Propaganda is a powerful tool.
Anytime some politician in the US proposes kindness to the unfortunates, like coverage for medical or housing or childcare or..... they get branded as Marxist or socialist. This really illustrates the ignorance of much of the population and their inability to look outside their fabricated bubble. @CosmicGiggle addressed your comment as well.

it comes in waves, just like rabies does during outbreaks. "being in charge" appeals to several types of people, a couple of which should not be allowed outside their home without guards armed with tranquilizer guns.

I agree with him on that. Money decides elections and its a problem. Still doesn't mean his policies wont turn the country into a shithole
