no im saying after it sits for atleast 24 hours ive even tried up to 3 days or so. I adjust it to 6.2-6.4 ish and if i let it sit for like 20-30 mins it will go right back up into the 7's
I saw someone else here say it, but Pro-Mix has dolomite lime mixed in. Dolomite lime is added to keep the pH always trying to adjust toward 7.0, which is safe for about all plants. It won't always be able to get to 7.0, but that's because you have nutrients in the soil, which keeps the pH lower - but that's totally normal.
I wouldn't worry about pH at all in Pro-Mix. It's been a non issue with me for years now. We NEVER measure pH, unless there's trouble that can't be explained. THEN I only check my source water, not the nute solution I give the plants. If the source water is between 6.5 and 7.5, it should be fine. Test the source water only after it has been sitting in an open container for at least 12 hours. pH will fluctuate until the water has had a chance to sit for a while and let fluorine and chlorine evaporate from the water... Until these gases are gone, there's no point in measuring pH, because it'll change once they're gone.
But again, with Pro-Mix, I've never had any pH problems - Pro-Mix fixes the pH automatically.
thats where your wrong CC...ive had ph problems from day 1 and this is now more than 2 years after first round...
ph can be a problem, and the ph i refer to isnt in the soil, its still in water form...and i dont want to water with water thats well over 7 as lime buffers up to 7 well, but not down to 7 well.
and you state that it will stabalize after 12 hours.....well thats my problem it isnt stabilizing after 12 hours, or after 72 hours for that matter... im just gonna try RO and go from there..
Hey there bro ...yeah man get u a ro machine they are realativley cheap now ..i got a eleminator ro from worms way .com ..i got the medium unit it was like $209.00..it can handle around 90 gallons a day depending on input water temp and pressure..that ph problem sounds strange friend..all i can think of is that there is such a high calcium content in your tap water that it some how alters your ph down solution... phosphoric acid i presume? no worries with the ro bro
Yeah man i bought water for allmost a year before i got my ro unit.. i knew the guys at the water place i got my water from buy first names... they were tokers 2 ..im sure that they started wondering why i needed 30 gallons a week lol ...
i use organics with pro mix bx (admended with chinky perlite) as well...
So i should ph my nutes at higher ph in flower to conteract this peat breakdown to prevent ph dropping... so in veg ph nutes (100% organic) at 6.3...
So what should i ph my nutes in flower to help prevent this ph dropping qwith pro mix bx...
EDIT: i use advanced nutreints organic line... I first use rapid rooter, then transdplant to 4.5 sqauered square pots, then to 1 gallon grow bags, then to the finasl transplant, maxi pots (12L square)
Not many even pH around here when using PM & as for beginners using it - All you do is feed & water - Than harvest, considering you have to water anyways you just need to remember to feed every watering 10 - 25% or more when you do. Fairly simple I'd say.
