Actually i think they are pressed into 5lb bricks someway or another then sold after the weed is pressed.

Sounds about right depending on how far from the border you are.

In Texas alot cheaper but on the east coast alot higher.

I dunno, a zip of 'normal' unadulterated bud in New England goes for $200...very rarely do we even see brick weed.

I live in Kentucky, not close to the border at all. It looks like good stuff on the outside of its compressed state. Bright near reddish hairs. And you can see trichs coming off of it with the naked eye. Havent smoked it yet but will be sure to give a smoke report as soon as I do. If it is Mexican Brick weed I probably wont feel much right?

Damn thats really expensive, down here mexican pressed weed goes for $25 an ounce. For a $150 you can buy a quarter of an ounce of high grade cannabis here.

Depends. I get great mexican all the time at around the same price. Contrary to popular opinion not all mexican weed is crap. I don't know how many times I've seen guys that claim they only smoke "dro" hit one of my joints and ask about getting some. I figure they are "weed snobs" and don't even bother telling them they are smoking mexican and loving it. The thing to remember is that good green mexican season is from around thanksgiving till early spring. If you buy during summer or early fall you will almost always get the brown.

If I were you I'd give it a chance to air a bit once you get ready to smoke it. Just bust some off the brick and crumble it up and let it sit for 30 mins or so. It seems to taste a bit better.

Yup, sounds like Mexicannabis. Usually compressed so they can smuggle more of it in a smaller space. Pisses me off, because it can be some damn good nugs, but they are smashed to shit! Still smokes good, just doesn't look as great. Occasionally you get an ounce or two from the brick, and you get a corner. A rounded corner that is, but there it is. Your entire ounce is one big block and it has a rounded corner. You can drop it on the table, THUD, and none of it breaks off. Interesting, but that is how it comes the majority of the time.
$150 does seem a little steep. Normal price around here is about $40-$50. But then again, Mexico is just a stoned throw away.

There is awesome mexican weed no need to argue about that one, but the comercial brick one is not one of the best example of that. Its the way they cure it that fucks it up, comercial growers in Mexico just pile it high and let it dry via the sun cause they don't care about quality/potency they just want a lot of quantity thus you get a sub-par product, but i can guarantee you that if you start some seeds found in brickweed chances are you are going to get a very decent sativa plant for sure.

id say you got ripped. 1 oz of mexibrick goes for $60 - 100 depending on who you know. but certainly not $150 for some mexico city express.

Edit*

dont want anyone thinking im some weed snob. lol. ive smoked the Mexibrick lots of times. Its hit and miss simply because as the guy up there said ^^^ they dont care about proper drying or curing they just do a quick dry in the sun, brick that shit up and send it out. sometimes its not even fully ripe. Ive gotten flat green leafy buds with no kick, to 1 hit wonder shit that will have you in the street paranoid as fuck. just the luck of the draw. but the fact still remains $150 for an oz of mexi is way too much. round these parts it goes for sometimes less than $50 an oz depending on who you know cuz it comes at $200 a lb and then gets shipped to major hubs like chicago where its bagged up in little baggies for $5 grams on the street.

just put your weed in a ziploc tupperware bowl with like a piece of lettuce or some orange peels for a few hours, let it fluff back up then dry it like you would some harvested weed.

sow the seeds

Does it have a lot of seeds and stems? If it does 150 seems a little steep for some mexi-schwagg. Then again I grabbed a z of "mids" once for about that price that had a lot of seeds and stem, but was super sticky and very good high. The few beans I grew out STANK only 3 weeks into veg but unfortunatley they never made it to bloom.

Haha tarkus getting those corners of the compressed multi pound bags is always funny...just like you said you drop it on a table and only a tiny bit of shake comes off lol.

When I lived in Texas, alot of the weed came like this, and it's safe to say that it made its way via Mexico. It was generally o.k weed, and usually right for the price($35-$60 an oz). There's also the really loose, leafy weed that I'd get sometimes. The same prices, but very leafy, and not much trich coverage. I've even come across this herb in Las Vegas, and I will definitely assume that it either comes from Mexico or a farm in the States. Either way, it's obviously "bricked" so that more can be moved at one time(as stated above). I would NOT pay $150 for that, but if you think it's worth $150, then go for it. Only thing that sucks is that brick weed makes the WORST kif ever. Other than that, it's always gotten me stoned to the bone. But I'm not a weed snob by any means.

Hell, I am smoking on some brick weed right now and god damn! I am high. It is some pretty damn good stuff, just wish Carlos took a little better care of it. Could be some powerful herb, but it is still damn good. An ounce stinks like a pound and is lasting quite a while. All in all, damn good for regular.
Hardly any seeds, but they are all keepers.

Hydraulically compressed buds are par for the course around here..... Many times its nearly impossible to smoke without running it through a grinder.... :badday:

And you all are right, sometimes it can be pretty good, even have some nice purple hues in it, but it just about always tastes bad......

Pretty sure they cut, dry in the direct sun, then hydraulically compress it.... not too friendly on the trichs huh? An oz. usually runs from $75-$150 around here. Here its either this or $50 beasters that smoke about the same! :badday:

yeah if i had to choose between mexico city express, or as they sometimes call it round these parts "Charlie brown" or beasted "Dro" id rather spend my money on the mexibrick. fuck beasters.

I have a buttload of brick in my freezer right now that I paid $100 an oz for. Its all pretty green and red haired and isnt crushed to hell. I do all my shopping in the dead of winter, that way I don't have to scrap around when its out of season.

I REALLY hate when they press it so hard the seeds pop because theres no way to get all the pieces out so it ends up tasting funky no matter how good it looks.
