Premier Cannabis LLC - LED run Tier 1 in WA

Thank you guys so much for chiming in about the HVAC. Do you have suggestions for minimum cycling time? We have 2x 5 ton units in each flower room and my best guess is that we need 8 tons in the room right now to maintain ambient temperature and humidity. We're cycling the units to try and reduce wear and tear but can run them at reduced output 12/12 if necessary. I just have to get in there and change the settings to do what we need. What do you guys recommend for best equipment maintenance and why do you make those recommendations? I don't know nearly as much as I should about how the HVAC system works.

Now that my questions are out of the way, on to the update! I just picked up a CBD rich AC/DC cut and got some good news! We finished our licensing paperwork and our getting our inspection done in the second half of this coming week. I'm out of town at the moment but am going to be cleaning and clearing and getting ready for production the moment I get back in. I'll be sure to take a lot of pictures while I'm at it.

Thanks for following!

Sorry if I missed it but has somebody already mentioned swamp coolers for lower temps and raising humidity? Or y'all dry enough out there in eastern Washington?

All right, thanks grow nerd. That put me on the right track. I believe we do have those. Now I just need to read the manufacturer's recommendations on how to run it.

Our side of the state is usually dry but has 4 distinct seasons. We looked at swamp coolers but were concerned they wouldn't work as intended for a couple/few months out of the year. That was the main reason we cut that one. The other reason was we're trying to keep the rooms as sealed as possible so we're anticipating more problems lowering humidity than raising it.

News just in - 6/5/15 is the big day! I swear bureaucrats take three days to figure out where they put their cup of coffee... anyways.

We have about 25 moms filling out two different veg rooms, one at 16x8 and one which is 12x6. Crunch time is upon us. I just spent the night hooking up all of the electronics in the business office and training the boss-mother in hazmat storage and labeling. Handling, relabeling, and LCB notification for hazmats are coming tomorrow. I swear I spend 10% of my time or less actually handling plants.

For the first crop, we're doing one 4x40 tester table with 10 different strains on it. We're also doing 5 single-strain tables with either 1 or 3 gallon pots and with roughly 1x1-2x2 spacing patterns depending on pot size and number of clones. No need for 5 gallons. It looks like we'll be running:

Orange creamsicle
Nebu's Blackberry
Cinderella 99
Chemdawg 91 Skunk VA cut
Alaskan Thunderfuck

I'm anticipating somewhere between 10-20 lb crops of those. .5 to 1 gpw, since I'm fairly confident I could pull at least .5 with HIDs at the same wattage (600w per 4x4). If I can't do that I have problems.

For the last table we're running a row of moms that didn't make the cut for the first batch just to see if they're keepers. Silver Bubble, Purple Jolly Rancher, and a few other pure indicas or no-name superhybrids. Probably about 1-2 lb crops each for those with clones held back in case they're fantastic. Got a Blue Dream x Route 66 cut I'm keeping my eyes on just because the bitch is so viny she'd have to yield well for anyone to bother keeping her around. Seriously. She almost killed herself because she tied herself into knots and couldn't breathe. Just fixed her tonight. I mean, nobody's into the kinky like Stynky but not when the honey is making my money.

I have tried to add pics for about four hours so far. No luck. I need a new phone.

Everything except the soil is in. CO2 tanks are getting chained to the walls and the drying racks are being hung tomorrow. Hazmat cabinet is installed and all the fertilizers and pesticides are labeled with their NFPA ratings, special hazard classifications (not the real term, just can't remember it), and their incompatibles. Final inspection is on friday but I've already run through the paperwork three times by Tuesday and we're good to go. The world's first Accident Prevention Program for a marijuana grow op is on site and I'm inviting an OSHA inspector in to double check my work because I'm that confident in it. I want this to be a good and safe place to be. I've hurt myself enough not following the backs of the bottles when I was spraying for mites or mixing nutes. No need to pass my lazy habits on to others.

We had the head building inspector for our county unexpectedly visit today. I think he was just curious about the LED grow op. But it was good to get a final checklist of what we needed for our certificate of occupancy and he seemed quite pleased with our attention to detail. Dude was acting like a kid in a candy store, asking about why our ceiling lights were green and how the LEDs worked and whatnot.

Speaking of which, these LEDs are frickin bright. I think if they can't pull weight it's probably my fault after seeing what the whole room puts out at once. It's blinding. That is a totally scientific observation. TOOOTALLY..... But thirty of the things crammed in there really light up the place. One of these days I'm going to get a radiometer out there (I made friends with a rep for LSG Highbay fixtures and she has one she'll loan me) and run a test against the Lumigrows, her units, and some spare 1kw HPS I have lying around. I'll be sure to share the results.

Wicked wonderland, here we go !!!

Wish ya all the best Sir , show us how it´s supposed to be done :D

Fun little update - over the weekend my LED rep friend hit me up. She's loaning us a few lights to run side by side comparisons against Lumigrows and 1000w magnetic coil HPS. Y'all will be getting to watch a side by side of the three from the first crop!

We should be moving plants in around Wednesday and getting our certificate of occupancy closer to the end of the week. I'm thinking I'm heading over to Seattle next weekend to stock up on anything special I can find. I believe I have found a cut of Gorilla Glue #4 locally but am especially interested to see which of Redeye's GG cross cuts and which high CBD cuts are floating around over in the big city. I'll keep you all posted!

Also, it appears we will be taking a table of Cherry Pie instead of a table of Orange Creamsicle for the first crop. No complaints here - the creamsicle is another viny jerk. I hate that growth trait.

Hi there!
How many lights are in each flower room?
If I read you post correctly you have a 5 ton AC for each room?

I'm asking cause Im about to the same thing in about a month or two, and would like 'to get my cooling right.

30 lights per flowering room, 10 tons of HVAC per flowering room. It's overbuilt but by how much I couldn't say. You could probably get away with 5 if you had additional dehueys but it would be pushing it close.

Veg room has 5 tons of HVAC and about 50 4' 4 bulb T5HOs.

Every building is different depending on location, insulation, and equipment that you have adding heat. Have an expert come do manual j load calculations. With the amount of money hvac costs and the cost if you loose a crop due to improperly sized equipment it is well worth it.

What he said. 5 tons would probably be sufficient in our building but we have R-50 insulation in the walls and ceiling and are built on a thick concrete slab. Plus we're on the northern edge of the US. You could need anywhere from 5 to 10 tons for the same wattage depending on where you are.

very interested in seeing the LED vs HPS performance. since most tier 3 producers in WA and large ones in CO have all gone DE bulbs, it seems like thats the safest choice. only know of one operation in CO that uses those pink LEDs, greenersidedispensary.
