PPK vert 4 plant 5 light grow show and DIY, 3400w, CO2

Cardinal rule with indoor growing`s ALWAYS been to keep lights on and off temps within a 10 degree variable DH...but....
I learned 35 yrs ago growin outside with late plantings of the exact same pheno`s would color up the one`s that went through end of Nov into Dec and finally the last one`s would be close to black by the last frost if they made it.....so....
Many yrs after dialin my indoor setups and getting all I could get out of my fliprooms , I started trying to reproduce my outdoor findings inside with the last 2 weeks bloomage running the a/c along with air exchange twice per minute , and the further I got away from the 10 degree variable , the more the plants colored up with more and more yellowing off and chlorophyll degradation BEFORE chop....that said....
Most plants start the fall colors after all the way up to 20 degrees difference tween lights on and off , and the stubborn ones took almost 30 degrees difference....but....
They`ll ALL color up with the proper stimulus and conditions....But you MUST maintain airflow and dehumidification if needed to prevent condensation forming on nuggage and keeping ALL airborn nasties from forming....anyways....
After dialin EVERYTHING else , then start fuckin with on/off temp variables , but dial ALL other conditions first before fuckin with yo bitches or they`ll turn on yas........

luck is no longer in this equation. i'm so far in that i could safely chop right now and they are good to go but i am waiting for a little bit more amber. i dumped the res again and refilled with RO water so they should be pretty well flushed in a few days. i cant wait to get the totals and see how i did. i'm not sure if i got anywhere near the GPW mark but i hope so. that would be awesome. i think if i got anything around .75 GPW i would be happy. this was a new trial and still very much a learning experience. i wouldnt have done near this well without everyones help along the way. thanks to everyone out there who helped me and the other PPK noobs out.
got a few more days until chop and i'm taking 12 more CJ cuts right now. next round will be all CJ and i'm thinking the one after that will be all OT bubblegum or an assortment of seeds i started. i hate to run multi strain grows but i have all of them started and need to use them somehow. The OT bubblegum pheno i kept has big solid colas everywhere. the main bud is probably a foot long or more and as thick as my wrist. looks great and smells even better.
everything is almost ready for the new PPK system. just gotta get my bottom buckets drilled and install the hose fittings and i will be all set to lay them out and run the lines. this one will have multiple 32 GAL top off reservoirs connected to it so i wont have to refill every day with 12 giant plants. as of right now i am going through about 15-20 gal of water a day on 4 plants. they are thirsty bitches.

Oh and i had a good idea on how to flush the 8822 in the new system with the single 3" outlet..... i have a hose in my bathroom so i will fill my containers with the 8822 and then rest the container on the toilet and then just run the hose through each one til the water runs clear. should work pretty well. it sounds good in theory anyways lol

I can verify this;
My first run with the Lemon Diesel was feb-april and I didnt use A/C. I kept my day temp between 78-82 (outside temps being the major factor) and my night temps between 68-72...Running pure coco, no perlite, and feeding 1X per day.
I flushed this crop for 13 days before chop, and definately had your typical end of cycle yellowing, but NO coloration whatsoever.
My second run with the Lemon Diesel was during the summer, and because my 15k BTU A/C wouldnt run through my sentinel, and because I didnt want to set up a relay system i decided to just plug the A/C in 24.7, running the lights at night. This way, while the lights were on i could maintain the 78* day temps even with the hot summer nights, and during the day (night cycle for the plans) the A/c would keep the room at ~65*
However, as summer came to an end, (late september), day temps were hanging around 60*f, and my A/c was able to get the room down to about 58*. This coincided exactly with my flush, and I noticed after a week EXTREME coloration in almost all of the Lemon Diesel buds. Tons of purples, reds, oranges and yellows, and overall just some SEXY looking buds. The bag appeal was top notch. Needless to say, it was definately the cold night temps that caused this.
As far as your grow DH, everything looks awsome! Helluva first run brother, been watching every step of the way...
One thing i missed; Why did you decide to switch to one 3'' tailpiece rather than 3 1'' tailpieces?
Also as far as your plan for toilet flushing your floor dry;;;

the only reason i switched is because i am always constantly changing something. normally i change methods or nutes or something else major. this run was so flawless there was no need to change anything but the drainage because it was a tad slow with the 1" tailpieces when they are stuffed with roots.

flat9, im pulling the plug on tue/wed since i have those two days off and will need lots of time to do it up. gonna take my good cam in there and get some pics tonight or tomorrow.
im always in need of more motivation Dabs. i'll see what i can muster up lol.
flat9, this round im gonna do things a little bit different that normal. im gonna set up a tent to dry in with a humidifier and keep things around 65% rh for a couple weeks to get a really slow dry. in the desert its hard to slow the drying process and its hurt me in the past. i am gonna hang full trimmed branches from some fencing i will attach in the tent and then keep a small fan circulating with the humidifier.
once they get to where they need to be in about 10-15 days i will remove them from the stems and place them into turkey bags with some digital hygrometers to make sure everything is where it should be.
i was supposed to chop yesterday but i was busy all damn day and night. i will try and bust a good chunk of it out today

Do you use a bonsai hero trimmer or anything like it? I'm trying to figure out the best way to harvest without damaging the top shelf buds. I hear the automatic trimmers (e.g., trim reaper) often do damage to the trichs so hand trimming is the best way, but perhaps the bonsai hero is a solid compromise.

i just bought them on ebay a few weeks back. me and a buddy trimmed a lb pretty quickly and it was kinda soft and hard to trim on a lot of the buds, not because of trimmers but the larf i didnt lollipop off and they were chopped early because of issues.
im happy with them but i will let you know how they do on this pile of buds afterwards

What kind of siliconeyesterday was such a mission! i was at my spot for over 7 hours working out the kinks. got it all figured out i think.
HL, i had planned on covering the buckets yesterday but i was fried after 7 hours.......actually i was on a roll and was down to pull an all nighter, but the wife wasnt having it lol.
SRGB, i have some wire cages from my vert scrog grow last round. i am gonna hang them from the ceiling over the plants and train the branches out through the cage to open them up and get good penetration. they are only about 3 pounds each so its no strain on the supports. its a lot less weight than a bunch of reflectors like i used to hang in that tent.
i have 5 days to fix any leaks. today i am gonna silicone the cpvc and place cardboard under EVERYTHING to check for leaks the next couple days. i think i am gonna be fine. fingers crossed!
my plan is to only leave about 4 gal in the res while im gone. the plants going in are only rooted clones and will not drink anything while im gone i dont think. evaporation will be an issue and thats the only reason im setting up the res while im gone.
all the shit on the floor is rockwool. it was all i had to soak up the water lol. worked great though
Be careful not to overfill it ... otherwise this probably will do a decent job, but ...
I ended up just putting it in the bathtub and running first the faucet on high heat, then the shower into it for like 30 minutes. Even after doing so, there's still a bunch of dust that collects on the edges of the tuff stuff tub. I think to remove it completely I'd have use a strainer and put in literally two or three cups at a time.
While we're on the topic, just curious -- what is the downside to not cleaning it at all? Are those small dust particles somehow harmful to the roots, nutrient solution, etc.?
