Powdery Mildew infection

B

Brain

I vaporize sulfur once a week for the first 2 -3 weeks of flower I don't see a single spot usually. 2-4 hours at night does the trick. This is the only method I've used that works. It's really easy too.

Picked up a batch of clones and found one of them to have PM. Went to the local nursery and got someting to do the trick. Question is this, how much time should i keep it out of the room (while treating it) until I introduce it? Should I simply wait until there are no signs?

most people say to not introduce it at all into the environment ever, but in some instances pm is inevitable ( what i hear from the humboldt fellas) and in that case preventative maintenance is the only way to go. meaning spraying routinely every 2 weeks is gonna be necesarry and if no signs of pm are present then id lower the concentration and keep spraying anyways. id just spray the cut down and put it in your room. unless your room looks like an intel chip factory then i dont think its gonna be that serious to you...... and as for the einstein oil, my friends use it religiously and they say its the shit but expensive, some commercial peeps were telling me of a product called eagle 20ew?? look it up and im sure youll find it, its like a 20 ounce bottle and about $90, its white in color and supposedly gets rid of pm then and there. I dont know how safe it is nor have i used it, but it was suggested to me so you may wanna look into it, hth

Hey everybody! Listen to this!

I recently had a BAD mildew outbreak in my room. Not really the whole room, but in a small spot it got really bad. Basically, I am running 24 strains of clone cuts from the club in oakland right now to pick some good keepers. Anyways, one of the strains, Cave, was /is just mildew magnet. So, I used my sulfur burner, sprayed it with hydrogaurd(Bacillis subtillus), humtea, etc trying to get rid of it, and nothing was working. It was so bad I was going to pull this 1 plant, because it was spreading from that point.

So I was about to pull the plant, but I figured what the hell, if I'm going to kill the plant, I might as well try some shit out on it. I loaded up a sprayer with hydrogaurd at a 1:4 ratio. The bottle strength is 15ml per gallon. The ratio of 1:4 ends up being 60 x the recommended strength.

Anyways, the punchline is: It kills mildew DEAD. Shit disapears, and there is absolutely no ill effects, and is safe to use up until harvest, with no ill effects WHATSOEVER. Bacillus subtillus is an absolutely harmless bacteria to you and me, but death to molds. Wait until your lights go off for the night, and soak them bitches down. You won't regret it.

I shopuld mention I've been doing this every 5 to 7 days now for about 3 weeks, and not ill effects, right up to harvest. Just be sure to spray them down when the lights go off for the night, and leave your circulatin fans on to be sure it is dry before the lights come back on.
Does it help prevent bud mold? I just pulled a GORGEOUS cola out of the drying closet that had been perfect upon trimming, but fuzzy white now that its dry... everything else in the closet is kosher. I run a Uvo3 5000 in the room, but it still got in there.

Soooo, do you think the Hydroguard would be a good preventative, saying I used it a week or two before harvest?

Powdery Mildew..... goddam! I haven't had this problem ever! Got introduced into my cab from a gifted clone!

Tried using a sulfur spray solution (antifungal) until weeks 7 and 8, but its still a problem. I'm going to try to spray the harvested buds with a hydrogen peroxide mixture prior to drying in the warmest and dryest spot I can manage.

What a way to see three months of work go down the drain. At least half the harvest is affected. Guess I'll be making oil this time around or try a modified bubble bag setup.

F*%K!

does extra airflow help?

ive got one plant of 6 that had a couple spots of PM.
i had given quite a few foliars to fix a mag def last week.
Hum = 40% up 10% from my usual 30%.
temps in the 60-70's but ive got 93 W/sqft.
i removed the leafs and shot safers on the surounding foliage.
never had PM i live in the desert, im assuming its attibuted to my foliars?

i also turned my fan down from 30min/hour day 15min/2 h at night to
15m/hour day 15/2h night because of windburn. didnt know if i should turn it higher untill im sure theres no more?

thanks!

My style exactly..After having being plagued a couple of times which destroyed two months of hard work I learned to believe in preventative maintenance..I swear by a sulfur burner...also a dehumdifier in later stages.
I have used sulfur as late as the start of fifth week on an eight week strain and didn,t have any problems..About a week before chopping time I would take a garden hose and spray the plants which I hoped would wash off any remaing sulfur then turn on all my fans to dry the plants off and ran a couple of dehumidifiers constantly. When you get PM late in grow you are in deep sheet....
good luck

I ended up wiping down every surface with dilute bleach and treating with Serenade.

Going with the Serenade worked out. My whole cab, including the veg and Mum area had gotten infected. The Serenade took care of it in week (2 applications. I even treated the soil surface of my Bonsai Mums which I assume took care of any dropped spores.

Also increased circulating fan size and flow...it runs 24hours.
