Looking good. Just learned about these higher power COB LED's from yours and Bueno Time's threads tonight. Look interesting.

What heat sink are you going to get? From the looks of it a CPU cooler from a computer would probably work a treat and they are rated for power far beyond 30W. Probably cheap on eBay too with enthusiasts swapping out stock Intel ones for after market. Anyone know of a reason why these wouldn't work?

hey clearandblue,,, well,, i actually never used those two cob's. Their pretty badass tho, but big as hell.. ive been working on something else lately instead. I now have two cxa3050's, one 2700k and one 5000k i think. On it i have two small heat sinks that mesure 90x90x15mm. Those are way too small. The heatsink with one led on reaches 30-35C,, so that means the small closet gets a bit too hot. And right now it is hot as hell outside so my room is normally 26C, with the small 50x50cm cab going to 80-85F(30C) some days. But then i just open it and blow some fresh air in.. We'll se how it goes. Ive got it going for tests now.

To veg i only run the 5000k led. All together the light with both leds on is 120W. Both leds running 1400mA

edit: the heatsinks used are these: http://www.ebay.com/itm/271912859293?_trksid=p2060353.m2749.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT
and they are waaaay to small! even with active cooling with the two fans. So im going to get a big ass alu heatsink. 300-400x150mm.

I heard in a video somewhere that it takes 300g of aluminium heatsink to passivly cool 10w LED. So we can do the math from there
