yo so i just got a new binger...pretty sweet HUGE bowl 9mm, ice catcher..but what im wondering is this...


EVERYTIME i get a new bong the first couple hits on fresh glass are SO harsh!
anyone else experiance this? then when it resins all good its fine?

I have noticed that. I figure it is the detergent they use to wash the finished product so that it looks real nice when they sell them to distributors. I noticed that if you wash it down real good before you smoke out of it, all of the detergent residue gets washed off and the smoke is a lot nicer than if you didnt wash it. try it out and see if it works for you.

Sounds like the smoke is harsh,not the pipes.A clean piece lets the true taste through.

I would use rubbing alcohol. Works great on my bubbler.

acetone on glass is the easiest and quickest way to remove all of that gunk. acetone is some powerful stuff....

not that iso doesn't do the trick, eventually, I've just found acetone to be much more efficient in removing all the tar...

i personally use 91% rubbing alcohol because its cheap and easy to find, for that size bong i would add rice, or rock salt, for small pipes regular table salt works well. the purpose of the salt or rice is to help get off the tar that is really stuck on there and wont come off with simple soaking. i plug my down stem with some plastic wrap pour some of the solution in there put some more plastic wrap over the top and shake shake shake rinse and repeat if neccessary

iso and salt and iso and rice work equally as well as 420 cleaner imo, but i have yet to try acetone.

careful gettin the acetone on any synthetics or rubbers cause it might dissolve them, check the lid of the jar if you are putting it in one and make sure it doesn't have a rubber seal because it will be dissolved.
