If you are not using water while making the butter it's gonna be nasty, imo.

The chlorophyll and the other water soluables need to be removed still.

I like to add a cup of water to my trim butter soup. This way there is plenty of time to catch the nasty stuff. Afert it's all extracted I put it in the fridge to seperate. All the nasty water will be on the bottom on the container.

I poke a hole in the butter when it's solidified, then pour off the funky water.

Then I do a second rinse.

I pour another cup of hot water in and repeat the solidification. This time there's no more nasty.

The brownies and strawberries above were made with cannabutter and tollhouse chocolate. The problem was putting too much butter in the melted chocolate or seizing up the chocolate. From what I understand the coconut oil is a better choice for the medicated chocolates.

When you say you use straight bho, you mean bho into the butter?
I always wondered how much bho could be dissolved in a stick of butter.

when making butter use plenty of water bring to a quick running boil add your active ingredient and butter and boil 5-8 minutes on medium heat. Then run the water/butter/weed through an tshirt into another pot to remove all the unwanted stuff. Then you can place the new pot into the fridge until the butter and weed mixture solidifies on top of the water and remove it and dry it placing in a tuperware. It will keep indefinately in the freezer.

I also use this process, and love it! I am interested in coconut oil. does this water cleaning process work with the coconut oil?

I squeeze mine through a Potato Ricer and don't use water.

All of the bad taste stays in the cheesecloth ball.

I get 15 ounces back out off 16 ounces.

From what I understand the coconut oil is a better choice for the medicated chocolates.


I can't confirm it with actual cannabis yet, but I made a test batch (ok I had the munchies and no chocolate) last night of a dark chocolate recipe I found and it worked perfectly and tasted great, really simple and easy too which is good since I can't cook.


1/2 cup coconut oil
1/2 cup cocoa powder
3 tablespoons honey
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract


Heat up the oil (I just used the microwave) then stir in everything else, give it a good mix, then pour it into a shallow tray/dish/silicone mold and stick it in the fridge for 30m. Take it out, divide it up, dust it with icing sugar/coconut flakes/whatever takes your fancy or just eat it.


You can add more or less honey to make it a fudge or harder chocolate. I'll try and put some actual pics in a couple weeks when I have the weed to make it real :D
