love the pic. like clorox said, ill get a lil show once every year or two but it can't compare to the stuff you can see in AK. definitely a beautiful sight to see

Oh yah....see em quite frequently. I have no pics of the ones i see but they grab my attention...still.
Green is the most common color.....yellows next. It the red and blue that are really beautiful.
And for those that have never seen em....they move like water in the sky....all wavy and shit.

absolutely gorgeous man, nothin can compare to the beauty of mother nature :joint: ...wish we got to see natures elegance like that in my neck of the woods

I've never seen anything like that before, that's crazy. Just another reason to move out of the city...

pics dont do the aurora much justice since they constanly move ...like OMT said...and can even have sound/krakle.

..and w/ colors that change....green/yellow is def. most common and Ive seen plenty red to blue

...yeah just another reason that alaska is awesome!

Auroras don't happen just in alaska but anywhere within the earths poles (north or south) :smoke:

They don't just happen near Earth's Poles, Saturn's got it going on too!!

Never been lucky enough to see an Aurora :badday: , not yet at least. Texas doesn't get anything that cool, the best I can hope for is a Tornado/Hurricane or wicked bad thunderstorm. Been through a few of those...seen ball lightning twice, that was nuts as I'll get out.

technically any planet with a magnetosphere and a sun that gives off solar wind will have auroras, heres an aurora on jupiter.
