Gotta get off my ass and post some photos to my demo so maybe posting a few pix here of where I'm at with EoP's Quaze x Zamal will motivate me.
Hungry little girl, eats everything thrown at her and wants more. Fabric pot is like a rock, watering takes forever. The UVA/FR in the grow light and the shite phone camera don't help with the true color, she looks a lot better with the lights off, LOL.
My only remaining male after roughly 4 months in a 1/2 gallon container has matured and now smells of Ginger Beer , sweet and spicy with earthy fruity notes underneath. I plan to use this male since it refuses to autoflower despite my attempts to make it do so. I have a potential mother plant to make f2's similar to this male with pretty much all traits match except I must now flower this male to make sure it doesn't produce any intersex traits, I'll make Ginger Beer f2's at the end of its term if it passes.
Ginger Beer pheno
I'm certain one of the males that autoflowered pollenated these plants around a month back, they're 2.5 weeks until harvest, 65% cloudy trichomes. The Golden Tiger is heavily dominating most of my favorite plants, adding spicey tropical fruity terps that deepen towards the end of flower. the mother plant seems to have not as many traits expressed, on a few plants the Cherry wine smells are spiced up, like a spiced brandy.
(Plushberry x Cuvee f2) x Golden Tiger) f1 has several phenos worth selecting for f2 lines, for now I only have one male representing roughly 1 of 4 dominant phenotypes. I'll have to grow more f1's to find males for the remaining phenotypes, some ready at 9-10 weeks while others look like 12+ weeks are necessary.
peach ozz x oldtimerhaze . about midway. the plant is a tester and is a bit negleted. aromas are starting to build up of ra complex mix of rotted mango and burnt rubber. i'm sure that will change further down the line. i used the same male on a few other ladies too.
I'm loving the way these 2 are growing so far, looks like a good combination, inheriting the nice nugs from HB x TK and the very nice structure from Honduras.
I can smell Honduras scent carried over, ready to see how the terps develop, hoping it has some of the gassiness.
2 weeks left on most plants, a few may go a bit later with one being ready by week 11.
#18 Mango Liqueur - malawi expression, some Pinot Noir(pheno) type of liqueur smells. Will be finished flowering in 4-6 days at or just over the 77-78 day mark, on the second grow it will be ready in 10 weeks, this plant was among the slower growing in Veg prior to flowering but the fastest maturing during flower.
#4. Black cherry spice- thai pheno likely going 12.5-13wks or 90-93 days, smells like a black cherries and spiced wine. Very likely will be my favorite from all of the phenotypes if it smokes like the incredibly uplifting stimulant thai dominant Golden Tiger phenotypes, I found them really rare among the regular seeds I grew, I was going to go with the "thai dominant 3rd version of Golden Tiger" but since it was feminized and I needed a male i went with regular and the best male in 48 plants was a sexually stable malawi dominant expression. To clarify- I find malawi to be trippy and psychedelic, not so much upbeat happy stimulation like the thai, which pairs best with the mother plant and its strong physical stone I fear the malawi stupifying trippy effects will compound with the mother plant's physical stone and just be a bit too much-incapacitating traits. Some Golden Tiger plants are really hard to operate on, and I'll be selecting for wake and bake, shit eating grin work meds.
#1 - Cherry/chocolate licorice/spice pheno, maybe the standout on vigor and resilience to soil pests/bad soil which seemed to have plagued my current harvest. Shows strong Pinot Noir/Cuvee influence like it's mother, reddens at the ripening stage, less visible Golden Tiger traits aside from its resin production/fat headed fully formed trichomes and gold glow, as this plant is compact with good Internodal spacing. 12-12.5 week harvest time, I see this shortening by a week and a half on the next grow.
#5 Ginger Beer Pheno- some of the Pinot Noir/Cuvee f2 traits expressed with some malawi Influence as well. Fat trichomes, foxtails and dense floral clusters with purpling beginning to appear on tips. 11.5-12 week harvest.
(Plushberry x Cuvee f2) x Golden Tiger
#2 Toffee spice pheno- Malawi dominant structure with strong Pinot Noir influence, one of the more unique terpene expressions, absolutely crusted in fat headed trichomes.
By 4/20 these plants will be cured a month roughly speaking, most sativas need more than that to really shine, but if the plant hasn't shown its worth at a month, I don't expect much improvement to occur, just refinement, high duration improves as more THCA ages into THC.
This is (Plushberry x Cuvee f2) the mother plant that was pollenated by golden tiger, 9.5 week flower time. Chocolate cherry liqueur terps. The Ginger Beer pheno most resembles this pheno in appearance but the terps which were cherry and dark chocolate were replaced with a sweet sharp ginger, cider/syrup on stem rub.
I pollinated both with some Acapulco gold pollen tonight. The one on the right is smelling very tropical, the colombian scent is shining through, it's kind of like pineapples but doesn't smell like pineapple, just a very tropical blend kind of like fruit punch. The one on the left, when i rubbed my hand across a bud, the scent on my hand almost reminds of bug spray, kind of like raid in a way, I'm interested in how it will continue to develop.
Id say topping the right one is a regrettable decision
This is the bud to the one on the right, very lime colored and very resinous
(Plushberry x Cuvee f2) x Golden Tiger) about 75% cloudy, no noticeable amber trichomes yet. Foxtails are growing more pronounced, this might actually be a "killer malawi" pheno, since they are supposed to be very spikey/dready and foxtail.
A week left, most plants will be done by tuesday but I expect this sativa/thai leaning pheno to finish next Saturday.
The smoke tests will provide the final verdict on what I will be breeding into f2's.
Harvest day is Wednesday for the Ginger Beer phenotype, mostly cloudy 65% with maybe 1% amber, the toffee is slightly further along about 70%cloudy 1-2% amber and the rest clear-cloudy.
A few of the early plants have been harvested dried and sampled, the Mango plant in the Jar smells like tropical Turkish delight, slightly soapy/floral from the plushberry grandparent spicy and earthy with mango fruitiness like the golden tiger father plant.
Harvest day #9 -Cherry Turkish Delight, the soapy cherry detergent smell matured to a floral/rose and cherry candy with touches of clove spice. This plant had more malawi dominant structure and trichome production, was plagued with bad health from some soil I have healthy clones, I can only imagine what it will produce when grown without herms in the room and better soil drainage, less root rot.
Harvest Day #11- Beef Stew phenotype. This plant started flower with a sweet and spiced carrot cake smell, bits of nutmeg carrot and some kind of nut oil, all that changed in flower, took on some garlic/onion and woody pepper smells and a meaty earthiness. If I could extract the flavor into oil it would make an amazing vegetable based meat stock flavor, it's mouth watering. Needs better grow environment, drainage is a big issue this harvest, most of my plants didn't drain well and suffered root rot.
Harvest day #10 pumpkin spice Pheno-
This one stayed relatively short, not much stretch, spear shaped flowers, less rounded than most plants, the smell is more subtle, spiced pumpkin/carrot baked good type of smell. Purples and dark reds starting to form near harvest day, good representation of both parents.
Ginger Beer Pheno is harvested, reds and purples appear near harvest, I'm hoping for a stronger sativa effect since this is one of the later finishing plants with heavy Golden Tiger influence.
About 85%cloudy 1-2% amber
Update on clones, all of the best phenotypes have successfully cloned and are re-entering vegetative state, the plants with double branching per node are quickly producing new branching more easily.
