wtf i thought these things were accurate
sad.gif

every few days ill check the calibration and its usually off...

I store in the storage solution.. meter isnt that old..

I adjusted the meter to 7.0 a few days ago with calibration solution.. just checked and it says 7.5 now.. so i adjusted it down to 7.0... clean it off, let sit, and come put it back in the 7.0 solution and it reads 7.5 after a few minutes.. wtf
lol

I'm over Hanna also. I don't have it as bad as you do, but I am not in love with the things. Sucks because I have like 4 of the combo meters.

I got the hanna 9813 series single probe and love it. So accurate and stays dialed in for 4-5 months at a time. I noticed it stays cleaner longer ever since I stayed away from organics.

My friend has a bluelab and he didn't screw the cap on all the way...left it overnight and the stupid probe dried out and was bad. F that! I can leave my meter without water for days and it'll still work fine.

I dunno, mine seems to be reasonably accurate, however I am rocking an older one, over 10 yrs old. I have replaced the sensors once. I'm careful with it tho. wash it well, keep it wet.

I'm gonna guess here, do you have one of the newer ones?.. I swear they seem different. I bought me a new one because the display is starting to have problems.

he owners manual says to press the *c button to take the temperature of the buffer solution.. and then adjust the ph calibration knob to show the ph value at the temp..
ph cal solution is 25* and it should read 7.0.. mines reading 23.5*..

Ive got the 9813-6 hannah.

help please!

I too started using a Hanna meter and you get what you pay for. I now use bluelab meters and have never been happier. There ppm/ec meter is awesome as well

After problems with several meters have gone back to using narrow range pH papers covering from 4.0 to 8.0 , accuracy of 0.2 units which is good enough for most needs.

Plenty on fleabay or from a scientific supplier at a reasonable price.

Just don't try checking under a sodium light as its a mile out , indirect sunlight is best.

just two questions when the probe is in the buffer is the reading accurate?
for best results store the meter and buffer in the same place so the temperature of them are equal (yes i know the meter is temp compensating)

is the battery showing less than 90%
if not change the battery these meters get a tad bitchy when the battery is a little down
