Albuquerque police want ad: We need snitches
'Make some extra cash! Drug use and criminal record OK'

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - The Albuquerque Police Department has turned to the want ads for snitches.

An ad this week in the alternative newspaper The Alibi asks "people who hang out with crooks" to do part-time work for the police.

It reads in part: "Make some extra cash! Drug use and criminal record OK."

Capt. Joe Hudson says police received more than 30 responses in two days. He says one tip was a "big one" but wouldn't elaborate.

An informant whose tip helps officers arrest a drug dealer could earn $50. A tip about a murder suspect could bring up to $700.

It's not the first time department has run ads. In a program 10 years ago, police received so many calls they turned the phones off.

what do u expect...? lots of lowlifes who know dealers, etc, would jump at a chance to make 50 to turn someone in. what does a lowlife care? 50 is 50 to them. they can get high for a day! i could see of it was only for murder, rapes, abductions, even crystal meth, but not for snitchin on people dealin pot...especially pot. WTF_

It would be hilarious if people started following the cops around with video cameras and snitching on them!

We had a local retired guy a few years back that got a burr under his saddle about something the city had done to him.
For over 2 years he would follow city vehicles around and catch the crews napping/standing around, double parking, timing their lunch breaks and anything else he could spot. He even caught a cop harassing some skater kids that made statewide news and cost the cop his job. The local paper loved it and published photos accompanied by his letters to the editor. It was funny as everyone was always talking about the "city boner of the week" and made a difference in city employee attitudes.

I just wish I had that kind of time....

In the 70's, someone tried to force a door open when we were home...he ran off when he heard us, but it took the cops 45 mins to get there!!
My mom got pissed off, and her and her friend went and did surveillance on the Winchell's donut shop!! She kept records of the car # and the time they came and left-- After a week of that, she had records of some cops hanging there almost half of their shift...she took it to the Chief of Police--
You didn't see cops at Winchell's, in Buena Park...for a long time--
:spank: :muahaha:

Naaa .. just tell'em that the victim has some of the highest grade pot plants in the world.

Should tak'em about fifteen seconds to be in their cars.

Cops sure are dirty individuals! They are no better than anybody else, its just that they have a badge and we dont. Its a shame what goes on here in the US. I used to have many run-ins with the law when I was younger and they were always there to bust my ass, but when I have ever needed them....they pretty much just turn their heads. My best friends dad was a cop when we were growing up and he would always bring dope, alcohol, and fireworks home for the kids. Obviously it was the stuff confiscated from the public that day.....NO GOOD!!!

the whole cop thing is despicable, i mean just law enforcement period. its the main reason i said i wouldnt ever be a cop. give me a couple bucks and you can slide on through, no matter what.

pass me an ounce and youve got me for the month. fuck that, live and let live! i'd more than likely be the one cop that lets people go on bullshit. "youve got weed in your car? oh oh and pipes to? aw what the heck, get outta here ya crazy kids!!"

i'd give people tickets for their headlights being out instead. just dont get how these people can leech off of others to make a living. cops to me are like desperate pimps, just chasin' hoes down for the money!! lol
