PLEASE HELP WITH WIRING A 100WATT HPS

Hey guys my friend started building a pc server case growbox ,modeled after elephant a OG user. His box is complete now,however he still has not wired his light due to the OG fallout , he lost all his friends off there, and lost fourms that were helping him thru with his first growbox. I saw that the growfaq was avial, and i have read it, but the pictures dont come up that show the wireing diagram, I have the light here, and tried to wire it folowing the directions without pics, but it seemed to be a little confusing, im not shure if its because he does not have the same brand HPS as used in the faq, so some wires are diff. But I will explain the problem and hopefully somone out there will offer help.

the kit is a 100 watt hps kit purchased from lightingcloseout.com
the comes with :
100watt bulb
bulb socet
ignitor
transformer
and socet mounting hardware

ok now heres were it gets tricky, i will list what wires come out of what.

Ignitor--Wire1=A1
Wire2=A2
Wire3=A3 COM

Transformer-Wire1=120V
Wire2=A1
Wire3=A2
Wire4=LAMP
Socet----Wire1=white
Wire2=black

i followed all the steps from the OG recoverd faq and here is where i ran into problems

They mentioned cap wires, my ballast has non, could it have the capacitor built in ?

THEN
"The white wire gets connected to the "com" wire on the transformer, while the black wire goes with the "120" (or whichever voltage you have) on the transformer. The green wire is the ground and that gets attached to either the ballast box or the base of the transformer to safeguard against shock."

this is a problem because I dont have any wire coming from my transformer that says COM, however I do have a wire that says "A3 COM" coming from the ignitor.

those are the 2 problems i ran into, otherwise i wired everything the way they said to

Im not shure if i should totally wire it another way since i dont have the same amount of wires as the kit used in the faq, im lost without og please help

It didn't come with directions? I didn't know that 100w hps didn't have capacitors. No wiring diagrams on the ballast either? Strange. Hopefully Kalotermes link helps ya out.

it's and ISB sola basic,i looked on the back of the transformer, and it says "HPF with cap"

kalo thanks for the link, but thats the same txt as the one off the OG faq, It seems that I have a diff style HPS, because it mentions having a long and short side, were as mine only has one big coil, any help and no it didnt come with directions, however there is sum type of diagram on the back, but i cant really make any sense of it

it seems as if a cap was not included with my order, on the pdf it shows u can order with or without the cap, DO i need it to run the light ? ahh man i hate these setbacks

So the a3 white is your common coming off the ignitor.
On the back it says with cap.
It is built in.

kalo , just making shure, your 100% it did say HPF with Cap, but on the directions from the site it shows u can order with extra cap, and they show a picture or whitout a cap, can u confirm for me ? Im sorry im just bad with wireing and im playing this very safe, i really apriceate all yoour guys help

also the a3/com wire from the ignitor is hooked up to the a1 wire from the transformer, so would i just splice all 3 togethor ? or would it interfere

If you can't read the wire diagrams, you should have a professional look at it!

don't just guess. you'll shoot yer eye out, kid!

Yes just tap into it, it's feeding the common side.

On the ballast you say there is a small diagram.
It should show if there is a cap or not.
With that small of a ballast im sure it is built in.
When it says "with cap" it means built-in, but
I can't confirm this, so take precaution.

kalo, thanks on the back in the diagram is does show a cap, but underneath it say optional cap, and shows a dotted line instead of normal line were the wires are, so my guess is there is a small cap built in, but if u wanted u could buy a larger cap and wire it ? im gona wire it all up tomorrow, now im jus a lil confused on how exactly to ground it to metal, so can i just screw a screw into metal and have the ground wire fit under the screw to my pc case and then just tighten ?

alright guys here is the deal, sorry to say but im back agian, i went ahead and wired like stated, and purchased the proper extension cord and spliced it, it had 3 wires one green wich i grounded to the transformder and hen 2 other wires wich had no color. so since i dindt know what each was. i figured id have to just try it one way plug it in, and if it didnt work it must be the other way, well i did that pluged it in the bulb lit up purple and my lights in my rooms shutoff, so i unplugged fliped the circut switch, let the ballast sit for 10 min and then rewired it the other way, same thing happend except the power didnt go out, or wait mabey it did im not shure im kinda high. i was wondering if that damaged the blub ? or how iknow if it did or not, and also what should i do know ? what could it be ?
