I remember one time in Aruba, the backside of a hurricane blew in and completely washed out the beaches on the leeward side, where all the resorts are. In place of the beaches was left piles of trash, mostly plastic…a lot of it probably coming from the ships that moored on that side of the Island because it was calm. I’m sure some of it was brought there by currents too. It was pretty disgusting.
