plants had 3 days of darkness

Well

Hi all

I had construction workers in my apartment so i had to hide my plants (3) and had them in total darkness, it was supposed to only take 1 day, but it took them 3 days.
So my plants has now been in total darkness in 3 days.
Are they destroyed or can i just put them back under the light now?

Thanks and bless

Are they in veg or flower? Either way I think they will be fine. Might mess your timetable up, if you're running to one, and/or stress them, but all is not lost.

They had 12/12 but not started to flower yet, so i might give it a go and hope for the best.

As you're flowering them I wouldn't be too bothered. Might take a little longer to finish, but no biggy, certainly not "destroyed" :)

Some people purposefully do an extended dark period to jump start the flower cycle. I've seen krunchbubble do it and I think it's standard protocol for medman. You're lucky you just started flower if you were halfway through it would be a concern for possible hermies.

IMO longer nights don't hurt the plants. The hormone that signals the plant to flower is only produced when there are enough hours of darkness.
So interuptions during the night or shortening of the nights can mess a plant up, even to the point of hermaphrodism, but extended darkness or interruption during the day doesn't seem to confuse plants. Plants may finish faster though because of the additional dark hours. Plants grown with 11/13 light schedules definitely finish faster.

If you spot male plants put them in a dark closet or cellar, they will continue to flower and shed their pollen.
