plants getting too big

i had three plants grow from last years seeds that dropped off my harvest. went out in april and there they were. they are approaching 7 ft.i have decided to cut at least a foot off the tops. i havent done it yet......any suggestions as to where to cut? thank you for your advice

Seems to me it is a poor time of year to be chopping plants. They are getting their last good surge of growth before turning to bud in these parts.

yeah i cage my plants with an inner and outer cage so i cage always have something to tuck and train branches under, then i put a scrog stylr screen a foot down in the cage for support, stake it into the ground and say goodbye to floppy buds and broken branches :)

heres the cage for reference, then theres one inner cage i use also..

Get some string/rope and a stake and pull it over, this could acutally increase yield, if you chop your plant probably wont recover well also additional stress....
