Pk booster issues

I tried to explain to a friend why leafs go yellow during flowering and using high levels of pk,,

Here is my answer,,, please can someone simplify it or just explain it a lil better

The main reason is lockout,, it's caused by lack of calmag,, you can solve it in a few different ways,,, 1 add calmag at the same time as the pk boosters,,, 2 use a super chelted fert and you might avoid the Deficiency,,

I couldn't explain it in any more detail without boiling brain cells,, ca. Anyone explain how my soloution works without being overly scientific,,,

I also mentioned that I like to shock my plants in late flower so Deficiency is inevitable for me for high brix,, and overly green bud is not my bag,, i also believe a pH swing could possibly solve most issues,, roots will excrete acid when they demand pk and in relation to this I find really early pk to be what weed seems to like,, i also prefer to burn all the nutes out before harvest increasing things I prefer like antioxidants etc

It's almost like if you use a better pk booster you need the extra chelated stuff and the high quality calmag too to stop the Deficiencys,,, you can avoid it by not using pk but the tradeoff is a difficult question to answer

I believe this is what you are trying to say.

Calcium, potassium and magnesium need to be in the correct ratio's for your plant to absorb them. When they get out of the correct ratio the plant can not get what it needs till it clears the nutrient that you have excess of. So in order to keep the ratio in balance you need to apply all three together to prevent locking out the ones that are not abundant.

At least I think that is what you are after.

The plant nutrients are measured as cations, and examples of cations include potassium, calcium, magnesium and other positively charged ions. There are only so many receptor sites with a magnetic charge. If you have too many potassium cations filling the sites there's no room for other cations. Excess potassium will lock out other cations and look like a nutrient deficiency. That's why its best to mix the above first before adding macro nutes.

A nutrient antagonism chart is worth looking at.

Too much of one thing will affect uptake of others, only so many available sites to occupy.

High phosphorus will affect iron,zinc, and copper uptake for example.

The JoeFresh guide to sick plants “sticky” in the infirmary section has the chart on the first page, next to other charts showing nutrient deficiencies, post #5.

I'm really interested in chelators atm,, and also enzyme pathways,, it's all about the brix and the terp, favornoid profile,, any positive variation in plasticity is interesting to me,, tp pathways are so so interesting,, its the secondarily metabolites even stress metabolites im going mad for atm,,, anthocyanin swapping from chlorophyll via bio triggerz,,,, love it

This is off topic but, you brought up chlorophyll and anthocyanins.

I have a cross I call Connor. The light seems to fade the purple. Buds under the canopy are more purple than the tops.

I also have Purple Satellite from Vermontman, that is the opposite. Only the tops turn dark and purplish, all the lowers under canopy stay green.

Rick, do you have any papers, links or info, on what causes opposite reactions in different cultivars?

Il look,,, i didn't want to dump a load of paperwork here but it seems like shits getting serious,,,,

it's obviously enzymatic pathways,, no_?,,, the activator needs to be 1 part trace element 1 part environment and bingo,,, my hypothesis is anthocyanin is a stress metabolite,, and soon we will be looking at a polygeneric response system,, i bet you haven't set up ya ducks in a row properly just yet,, but when you figured out what the polygeneric triggers are I bet it will include a stress metabolite and it's not an opposite reaction it's one of many "multiple outs"

Basically my friend has started using pk again and has found his leafs are going yellow,, he also just started using a new type of silica,,, i told him its because of the pk its not the silica,,, my thoughts are that it's an iorn issue solved by calmag which usaly has a fair amount of iorn,, i also suggested raising the pH and use a chelated pk in future,, basically the more chelated the easier it is to absorb,,, i also suggested aminos to bring in chelators,,

I tried to make all this as simple as I could but I'm wondering if I'm not explaining how the "pk lockout" thing happens when you don't use calmag with pk boosters,, it definitely burns leafs and makes things yellow

But,, this question is a funny one,, the more I think about it the more I think that broad spectrum nutrition is important as "activators",,, like in this situation the chlorophyll can't be fixed because of the iron absorbsion,, this makes me think of archaea, protozoa, neematodes,, a full food web to create better absorbsion of "activators",, peptides, bacteria:funji ratios,,

I'm interested in plasticity, I work with colonials,,, sport clones and being the best for profile is paramount

I'm trying to experiment with all the basic biostims atm,, gibs, ethelene, cytokinin (tricananol), auxis etc,, especially auxin : cytokinin ratio in relation to life cycle

I'm also trying to explain it simply to my friends

Really enjoyed the read thanku.
I've just changed my base feed for this exact reason.plagron seems to have a good deal of calcium in the mix and perhaps this will open the receptors to the pk being absorbed better along with the occasional splash of sicalic acid, and boron and I believe the doorway is open for me to receive.
