yeah dude you should have just picked them off as long as they didnt open you are all good. even if they opened what you get a few seeds. if its for your self eh a few beans arent all that bad sh!t happens nice looking buds though .
Yeah...They were alll over and there was good chance it would have continued to hermi. There were two other plants in the same cab (C22 w 400w), with lots of wind movement. It just wasn't practical.
That was a dumb move really. They are just male flowers. I would rather have a few seeds in my weed then have immature bud to smoke. All that time wasted for nothing. She probally had like 3 more weeks left too.
Oh well. I would have prolly agreed with you if one of mine weren't in there with lots of wind about. Think on the positive side, there is more of that beautifull 400w orange for the remaining Chrystal and my LSD.
They look immature. The side branch was going to produce at most 15 seeds, and who knows if they would have been hermis too. Oh well. I can sit here and get all sad about it but I wasn't even expecting to do that, so I'm indifferent.
I might have some good news. The seeds from the pollonated lower branch of Chrystal might be viable. There were a few light colored ones that I promptly ate, but the rest look dark enuf that with a little cure, they might be viable.
With all due respect I agree with the "poor choice" opinion. Should 'a let it go & removed as many nanners as possible. I did the same with a nice Dman plant once...
ended up with a very nice stash (it was a very "above average" trichome producer).
But there are other upsides... not only a nice stash, but (this is something most people don't realize) a "mostly" female plant which is kicking out a few nanners will usually create seeds that produce a rather high percentage of fem'd offspring... so after some carefull testing/selection of the resulting offspring you might have ended up with not only a few really cool fem'd crosses, but also a few very interesting fem'd ** F2's ** (the really exciting part IMHO). I'm not trying to chew you out... but for future reference, you might want to think twice about making the same decision. I guess it really depends upon whether or not you take an interest in "home breeding" for unique and/or spectacular new strains.
High seas (of green) to all,
Cap'n
Exactly. That wasn't the intention this run, although it is for the next. For this grow we wanted as much bud as possible, and the hermi was gonna pollinate and lower the yield no matter how much we kept an eye on er. I don't want my plants energy going towards seed production, not this time.
