Thanks Koondense! The look in early life is pretty uniform on the Double Oaxaca'79 it seems. The others have a bit too round more indica looking leaves to be the Double Oax'79. Yours are looking nice vigorous, i really would say you have a Jack and the Beanstalk pheno in there.^^

Hey RC.

Well, i've not provided a real smoke report for the Oaxaca'79S1 from my first run. I thought it wouldn't be fair, as they were good Seeded and also harvested way too early. I just have waited till the Seeds for my Double Oaxaca'79 cross were ripe und pulled them down.

This round i'll let them finish properly (12-13 weeks). On the first run i've harvested at Day 58 or 59, which for sure was pretty early for this pheno in my eyes.


When you look at Dubis Oaxaca'79 Thread you can find a little smoke report. Think there shouldn't be a too big difference, as it seems the Seeds are from the same stock. Think my Pheno represent Dubis Oaxaca'79 female 12 more or less.

Some more Pictures of the Double Oaxaca'79 at Day 68 12/12....

Just to compare the Bud structure of my Double Oaxaca'79 female with a Oaxaca'79SKULL female. So my Double Oaxaca'79 has the Bud structure of the Oaxaca'79SKULL, but with a improved resin profile and the smell from the Cannabiogen Oaxaca'79S1. Increased vigor (robuster stems and general growth) from the SKULL.

Awesome all around, knowing the Oaxacan smell, I am almost salivating here looking at those pics. When I grew the Mextizas last year, some had literally mouth watering smell and I can imagine this will be very similar. I love how the Double Oaxaca want to go longer (judging based on the bud structure) then Oaxacan S1. The longer the better
I am sure on some others DoubleOaxacan phenos, you will see bud structure more akin to OaxacanS1. Think these genes are very dominant in general, but still this pheno of DoubleOaxacan is looking great, it has that golden glow. Great stuff!

My Double Oaxacan plants were transplanted and I gave the bigger pot to the only one showing sex so far...we have a girl! She's the prettiest but not the most vigorous of them, I feel there's just one male in the lot. And another thing I must say, at this stage these plants are among the prettiest plants I ever had, in terms of structure and leaf shape, just lovely.

When you say “improved resin profile” , do mean a) improved quality of effect from resin or b)improved in terms of increased quantity of resin in trichome and, or more trichomes overall or perhaps both?

Hey elanius, yeah i think there are similar smells like in Mextiza, the SKULL also adds a bit of it's scents. I also can notice a slightly Menthol background smell which isn't present in both parents on it's own. Wondering how the finished product will smell, and of course how the effect will be like.

Great to hear you gave them bigger shoes. Do you plan to top them?

Well, i still can't say something to the effect, as it's the very first time i grow it. The structure of the Buds reminds me more to the Oaxaca'79SKULL as to the Cannabiogen Oaxaca'79S1. But the Buds have more resin like the CBG Oaxaca'79S1. The SKULL on it's own has less resin, also the resin of the SKULL was more dry, while this Double Oaxaca'79 female has a more sticky oily resin profile like the CGB Oaxaca'79S1. It's even more oily as i thought, even more oily as the CBG Oax'79S1.

Normally i don't like to do it, bud have snipped a little early test bud of the Double Oax'79 to fast dry in the oven. Very oily for sure, smells now more orange like when rub the resin i would say.

My fav is the one to the left, in the biggest pot. The right plant I have the feeling is a male, the other two in the middle very likely females but it's a gamble for now, no real signs of sex so far.

I will probably just lst them and select two females for the proper grow, maybe also take a clone just in case if they turn out better than my OaxPan. The male I guess will be a lucky one among all the ladies, he could let some pollen and hope for a fertile CherryBomb or something like that. We'll see where the inspiration will take us.

My favorite from look is the 2nd from left, seems to have a tighter internodial distance.

So far i must say that most of the Double Oaxaca'79 Plants in VEG are more leaning to the SKULL just from the look. Let's see what they do in flower.

one thing I seem to like and dislike is the angle of branching, the first is around 45° and I prefer that over the more upward growing branches. Something to do with aesthetics

Yeah my female also has a 45° branching, buds start to swell more and more now.

BTW: From my 5 smaller Double Oaxaca'79 Plants 3 have already shown sex, inspected them today. 2 Females and 1 Male.

Great thread here PP. Those S1s look like amazing, are you still working with 8 of the s1s or have you narrowed down? S2's still in the works? I'd give anything to run some of the s2s if it happens. Those s1s have the look, I can almost smell them through the screen. Free the Oaxacan already cbg.

From the 8 S1 Seeds i had only this one Plant made it, survival of the fittest i guess. I still wanna make some S2's for sure, remind me when im ready. Im very happy that this lone survivor is pretty stable in Sex, a lot of things i wanna do with her.

Thats great, can't wait how they develope in flower. Should give some nice buds.

A German grower is also testing some of these Seeds, he already popped 4. Great to see them grown by different people so fast.
