Just order a General Hydroponics pH kit, they're like, $12 shipped and will last you a couple grows. Growing pot is like cooking, the first few times, you have to follow the directions to a tee, all of them, so if something is off, you can diagnose the problem more quickly.
Your plants are easily big enough to be using your HPS (get an MH conversion bulb for vegging, eventually). I put my plants under the HID lighting as soon as the cotyledons open and I get ultra-compact and FAST growth.
As far as losing light due to reflection, I've always run open set-ups like yours in the corner of a small room, so I don't know if you'd get more buds if it were enclosed. If you can manage one more side, so it's a box with an open front and top, that would help, and you could still point your fan into that box, and it will carry fresh air from up under the plants to the light to keep the canopy cool.
For wind-stress, it's important that the fan oscilates, or your seedlings will bend like a palm tree in a trade-wind

Oh, and as was said earlier, don't mess with ferts until after you've transplanted from the beer cups (and then wait a few days). IF the seedlings REALLY need something, I personally add a bit of bloom nutes, my theory being my bloom nutes are pretty complete, and young root systems bennefit from Phosphorus. (Also, that's what's recomended on your Fox Farm's feeding guide).
Don't feel bad if your plants aren't the picture of health, everybody botches their first grow or two in the early stages. Just learn from mistakes! If you have more seeds I'd say to just start over
Also, your N defficiency might be caused by over-watering, let the soil dry out so the cups feel very light (like, 24 hrs at least). This should start to restore the color to the plants. You can feel the leaves, and if they feel way soft like the petals of a flower, you're probably over-watering.

no keep it going but you might want to consider just keeping a few seeds on stand by and if things keep going they way there gowing then start to germ somemore seeds and you will be right as rain but you deff neeed to get the ph test kit and go from there... dont feel bad i mean i fucked up 3 gardens before i started to get shit going in the right direction keep ur chin up and keep trying and remember its just a weed...

(especially for your first few grows)
I've grown in someone else's re-cycled soil after messing up their nutes, and it mutated the next batch of seedlings I put in. Don't trash your grow just yet. I was just saying if you had a bunch of seeds and you had the soil and stuff, you really wouldn't lose any time by starting over. If you use your HPS light early (without burning the plants!), your growth will be so much better the new plants would catch up to your current progress.
I didn't mean to be a downer bro, so far you're doing fine, better than my first grow! I thought if I used straight nutes it would be like spilling radiation on someone to make them a super hero. It was, it burned the $hit out of them. Keep us updated on your progress and be patient.

Oh yeah, and like someone else said, along with the test kit, get a SMALL bottle of up and a SMALL bottle of down, you only need a little bit to change a gallon of solution's pH.

LOL. I refer to my first indoor grow as the "waffle" grow. The rules allow you to throw the first waffle away without it counting against you.
Remember, it's a weed. As much as possible, keep it simple and stay out of it's way.

dude it works by you pour a little bit of your water that you are going to give to your plants into the test tube they provide in the kit and then you add the test soluiton to that vial and then it will change colors according to the ph in the water. on the test soultion bottle there is a color chart that tells you what the color and ph is. and its that simple if need be i will do a pic run down on how it works buit i think that i explanded it well enough pm if you need me to do that for you..

The test solution looks like this bottle, and like Mr. Piston said, you just fill a little vial with your nute solution, add a few drops of this chem to the vial, then it turns a color, and that color coresponds to a pH level. You'll have to do your own research to figure out what the optimum levels are for vegging/flowering (or you could go by what your Fox Farm's poster says, but it might be wrong...).
