Thanks for posting the photos Gaius! They all look very tasty, i'm curious if Ed will drop in and ID them, I also wonder if that #14 was actually my entry, as it looks very familiar! :joint: Much love, and thanks! :respect: SL

so what was the name of your entry again vStagger Leev? that number 14 certainly has a beautiful look to it. these pics make me realize what a shame it was in a way to speed up enjoying all those amazing buds in just 3 days, when each one was worth being smoked for wake and bake to enjoy individually . not that it wasn't amazing fun, lol.

Fun yes, but as you said it really is a shame...an unfair shame.

Lets face it, after the 2nd or 3rd sample anyone tests each day, it's difficult to really evaluate the quality of the high (and isn't that what's it's all about?). If it's possible, I would think it would be ideal if each judge was allowed only 2 ~ 3 samples per day to accurately and fairly evaluate...that way bag appeal, taste and smell would not make up a majority of the score, as it seems to do now at most comps.

I don't know about others, but I don't smoke ganja because it looks good, smells nice or has a nice after taste, I smoke it because of the excellent effects, and these effects vary quite considerably between different strains, the conditions grown under and the quality of the grower etc.....bag appeal, taste etc would make up less than 5% of my score, but at these comps, I get the impression (from reading about them) that many samples are unfairly evaluated in the blur of trying to rate 5, 10 or 15 different buds in the space
24 or 48 hours.

I'm sure those who regularly attend these comps are aware of this and although the cream still rises to the top, I'm sure there are some entries that only score in the middle of the pack that would be on the podium in a competition judged primarily based on the quality of the high.

Chamba, i gotta agree with you, i have been to and judged in most of the 420 cup's,
me, gaius and a few others were saying about how it would be nice to be able to do the samples at home and just do one sample each day smoking in your own environment and with your own tools.., you would be able to judge and rate each entry to its potential...
but logistically it would be impossible.

Its still great meeting up with the IC crew for a smokeout, roll on november for the C/cup.

hey THC4SIM,
one friend of mine (bong smoker) just uses half of the samples to judge. the other half he always tests at home after the events.

its a good move, he can enjoy the buds while checking out the pictures and score sheets. all in a relaxed environment at home with the big pipes, not the traveling ones.

i am always so jealouse, haha but i just never manage to safe any of the samples

chamba: for me these cups are not just/only about finding the weed with the best high effects (most of them were absolute top notch!) but about socialising and about the healing effects (think: 30+ strains with different cannabinoid and terpine profiles you are adding to your system).

I had the pleasure of taking a dope cruise with Ed and about 50 or 60 of my closest friends in Amsterdam this year at 4/20. We motored down the canals in the lovely Amsterdam evening. Ed had a combination of herb, oils and bubble hash in a glass bong instrument and he walked through the group leaving a trail of destruction.

My second hit from his collection cause me to sit down and shut the fuck up for over an hour. Strongest cannabis high to date.

Regrettably the catholic church has denied all my request for his beatification.

LOVELY samples..yum yum every one of'em.It would seem a waste to cram all those dope samples into three daze. They all look like they deserve more time than that..

Stoner heaven right here. What a bunch of beautiful buds and hash. It's inspiring for me to see such beautifully grown buds; makes me want to do better. Congratulations to all of the craftsmen growers.
That cruise would be a great trippy trip.

Thanks Gaius and All for the posts and great vibes. I wish I had more time color correcting them for you before sending them as so many amazing colors came through on so many samples. Another reason why I have requested High Times to please allow me an opportunity and enough time to properly document the cannabis cup entries. Oh well, just gonna have to make my own cup with stellar rules and entry procedures. 1LOVE, Ed
