I think this is an example of some really excellent photography. Notice how the background is solid & dark so that the subject matter just jumps right out at ya. Also, most everything in the pic is perfectly in focus. Very very nice job IMHO. I went back and looked at elevator man's original thread and there are at least a couple other pics that are equally impressive!!

im glad someone said that ive noticed people just post pictures of good looking nugs, and some not even a good pic, blurry, not sharp, out of focus, etc..... this is what we should be looking for.

^^while that is true, I also believe that the contest should be about budshots and great looking buds. After all we are growers not professional photographers. I agree that there should be a standard to uphold - good lighting, in focus etc. - but I dont believe that the only people who should win POTM are the ones with very expensive cameras and the space to set up elaborate photo shoots. Just my 2 cents. Take care

I can assure folks that my cameras are cheap, and my set-up anything but elaborate - a window, black cloth and a tungsten lamp! However, my flesh-based 'focusing and composition assembly'? Priceless...

But what a thread to finish the year off - I think we're all getting better...

^^ exactly ive taken macros that some dlsr's wish they could take. with a 5mp 200$ camera. sure the expensive camera helps but the photographer is what makes the pic a good pic.

You know what, you both are right, I did not take into account the hard work put in by some to make their pics look so good, I just think that some are too critical of photography skills on a site that is not about photography. Anyways...I love you pic EM, you did an outstanding job setting that up. Take care
