Hey PhillyPride: Nice harvest. Next crop is looking fresh too. Could you tell me a bit about your drying process if you don't mind. How do you keep your humidity levels up while they're drying right after you trim them. My buds always dry way to fast cause I don't know how to regulate my humidity.

Thanks For stopping by eveyone

151Kushmaster-Seeing the Illadelph really brought a smile to my face, you have to tell me how you rate it vs your Toro.

Bear-You will be more than pleased with both the WD x ABK and The STD x ABK stellar herbs, and hey bro if you want some nugs you can get some nugs just send the word you are goooood people bro keep it green.

Thanks Vin-my drying process allways tend to change to the environment I am drying in, currently I dont really control the humidity at all during the drying process but i do check twice a day after the 7th day. A simple rule of thumb I stick to is if the Humidity is below %50 drying will take 10 days or less, if Humidity is above %50 it can take 10-20 days to dry, I dried the last crop in a un insulated basement area that had a %65-%70 Humidity levels with cool temps thus the longer dry times. Also I hang the plants almost entirely whole up to dry just removing the Fan leaves and a few protruding leaves from the buds I have found that this gives the best overall finished nugs for me, I used to hang everything in smaller stems to speed drying and used to dry on screens and racks and have found that just hanging them and letting true natural process take its place with the plant drying from the stalk through the stems and then to the buds. When I do control the Humidity I prefer it to be at a range between %45-%55 Humidity with about a 10 day dry. But I have not seen too much difference in humidity levels affecting taste, potency, aroma as long as it is properly dried to the snap of the stalk and no longer because any longer and the buds dry to a point that when you place them in a grinder they turn to powder lol I like to catch them right before crisp so when placed in the Jars they dont need to be popped opened too much if at all because of sweating, I have found that when the nugs sweat when placed in the Jars they lose some of the pop in taste, aroma, flavor and even if the jars are constantly checked and opened to let air in. But hey just my two cents.

I will have my version of smoke reports on the STD X ABK aka BPP and the WD x ABK in a few days I want these ladies to have a good two week cure before I start assessing now the OG kush is very potent but I believe she will need a good 2-4 week cure to pull out all of the desired nuances I mean hey most strains need a good cure but that BUBBA Kush x Abusive Kushaze (OG Kush x Super Silver Haze) was probably one of the few that tasted like a one month cure right off the drying process simply incredible, I swear CF hit the jackpot holy grail with this cross, simply incredible stone, flavor, aroma everything a 10 and after curing it only is getting better and better the best strain I have ever worked with hands down, Really a mixture of everything I am personally looking for in a pheno-HAZE taste/aroma/high-Kush taste/aroma/high and I swear I taste a little bit of the purple family in her, the few people I have smoked this with most didnt know what they were smoking but swore it was some type of Super Purple Urkle-Kush-X Haze! Now I have smoked Purple Kush on a few occasions, now I have no idea it was the real thing but it was VERY good and to ME reminded me of some HAZY KUSH very Hazy i was shocked I was expecting Purple Kush to be a Urkle x Kush cross not a Purple Haze x Kush cross and this is what this Bubba x ABK reminds me of with subtle differences, so talk about pleased, I feel as though I have truly come full circle, I hopefully will still have this gal 15 yrs from now, I really dont see another strain for me to desire more but hey we will see? can it get any better? for a East Coast cat it doesnt get any better

glad everything worked out well for you holmes.
makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside to see us local yokels happy :p

on a brighter note, the mets got santana. :woohoo: :muahaha:
i know that just gave phill phans a major headache!
GO GIANTS!!!

Philypride, the Illadelph looks quite nice from what I can see. Prices didn't seem all that bad either. The one posted above sold for $320. I prefer a larger tube myself 22-24". If you were to get one this size it would probably bump the price up $40-80 if I could guess. It would hit very similar to a RooR or Lux tree perc pictured on the previous page. Any RooR, Lux, or Illadelph tree perc would have little to no drag compared to the Pure dome perc you have. The Toro I own is currently the best double chambered tube on the market. I'm sure anyone that has one would agree. It's expensive but you truly get what you pay for. I also just got in contact with a new Toro distributor. I may be able to get one of the fixed down stems for a good amount cheaper then what I paid. I'll let you know.

And I appreciate it! That's generally where my buds are when I stick them in jars. I don't like "burping" them too much either. I usually forget to anyway LOL. Some day soon (when I can grow year round) I plan to try ferment some bud for a few days in a compost pile like good cuban tobaco is cured. I also plan to water cure some bud and do some real fermenting w/it. :joint: :yummy:

CF-Who has more pressure now the Mets or the Yanks? nice type of pressure to have though; the Santana move was a psychological knockout to the rest of the NL. But hey I hope the Giants can knock off the Pats that would be a victory for the ages and will probably be the last time I EVER cheer for the G-MEN lol

151Kushmaster -Good info as always I think I may grab a Toro down the line but I must first grab an Illadelph 24" tree perc to support the home team, ever since I heard that the company was experiencing some financial problems I said I would try and steer my $ their way, every two cents counts. Sentimental I know but I am just loyal like that.

PiffDaddy-What it do Dog! Bitch I'm From Dade County  AK's and Chevrolet's! 305 we get it how we live! just chillin dog, hey do ever get a chance to get back and holla at any of the Oye's on Broadway? Heeeeeey :canabis:

No problem Bro. The second link is an actual tutorial. The first is an 8 or so page discussion on water curring.

I dought you'll care for water curring though unless you're into etables, or want some stealthy herb that you can smoke in public. As you will see, water curring takes out most of the flavors and aromas of the MJ, and as we all know here, those attributes are most important to you. LOL.
Do you usually have much luck w/FIMing? I've only tried it a couple of times, but have never gotten more than 2 new tops, sometimes not even that LOL. Not sure if I'm cutting too high, or too low, or @ the wrong time???

PHILLY, WHA DA DO CUZ ! AK'S ALL DAY GOT TWO AND ONE WIT A SCOPE! RIDE-IN IN A TRUCK WIT 5% TO YOU CAN'T SEE UP IN MY WINDOW! LOL! BUT I'M 4 REAL!

BY THE WAY THOSE HO'S IN YOUR GARDEN LOOK GOOD AND HEALTY IF YOU DON'T MIND ME ASKIN WHAT ARE THE SPEC'S IN YOUR ROOM? AND HAVE YOU EVER WANTED TO GO HYRO/DWC/AERO ETC.?

P.S. GO G-MEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Chubbynugs-Whats up bro, do you have a link to your thread, I would love to see what your throwing down. Keep it Green in the SoCal, and quick ? what is the most sought after strain in SoCal to smoke? Just Curious if it is a Kush or a Purp strain! :rasta:

Vin-Thanks for the clarification bro and even more for the links, I think I may be interested in this somewhere down the line because my wife loves edible herb food/treats. and to answer your ? I love Fimming i usually have great results :yoinks: we will sure see with this run :lurk: , I usually get anywhere from 3-6 tops, of course sometimes nothing happens but 2 tops but that is on rare occasions, I usually give the plants 14 days + of Veg after Fimming to give the plant ample time to heal, but what I really love is that during the time that the plant repairs itself and the cells are dividing to produce the new tops the rest of the bottom branches really catch up to the rest of the plant, similar to supercropping but hey that is just my opinion :asskick:

AmishFarmer-Thanks for stopping by bro, I cant wait to see how those Blue Cheese's from the Dam turn out for you, make sure you keep us posted! :rasta: :bandit:

PifDaddy-What it do? Much respect to the 305! I know the culture down their better than you may think, got a few homeboys from Carol City, Liberty City, Oval town, Opa Locka Ya dig I know about that tint and that bottom lingo . . . ."know you aint trying me Dog" "Me and My Dogs from out that bottom" Ya DIG  . . . . . . . .yeah I have thought about Hydro/DWC/AERO and know some that currently run them but to me the Soil/Soiless Mix does make a difference in the taste  and the complexity of aromas and odors but hey no offence to those who do I just prefer Soiless Mix. My specs change constantly I really dont know what I am about to use until I use it :puppydoge more of a gut feeling like "these need a Stack" or :cuss: "these need 2 stacks" or sometimes 2 400's alot of different combinations kinda depends on the strains being grown at the time and how much space I need. Currently the gals are in .68 gallon pots under 1000w MH most will go into 6 gallon pots and the rest 3.8 gallons and 2.3 gallon pots. I use Pro Mix I prefer HP but am stuck with BX on this run with a cup of perlite per gallon and cup of EWC per gallon and that is it. I like to hit them hard with CO2, Same nutes I listed before except I am using Pure Blend Pro for Veg. These gals have at least another 2 weeks of Veg.

I'm speechless... almost!

I'm speechless... almost!

PhillyPride, this thread is absolutely amazing! It's both very informative and very inspiring. Of course, the photos speak volumes and are great to look at, but your descriptions are very helpful to those of us new to this 'hobby' who have never had the pleasure of sampling a variety of properly grown, quality genetics.

It's great to see how passionate you are about herb. While you say you're not an expert, it's clear you have much experience in sampling a variety of herb and growing what you enjoy. While I share your passion, my experience (or lack thereof) for now comes mainly from reading. I appreciate the attention to detail you give in your smoke reports.

I aspire to get to the stage you and others (Cocktail Frank, Red_Nine, Bearfootlove) are currently in. Reading your posts will help me get there. I'd spread some reputation, but I haven't made enough posts yet.

Got a question or two:
You stake your plants with wooden dowels (1/2" I'm guessing). This doesn't affect growth at all when you drive them in? I was always afraid to use stakes in fear of damaging the root mass.

You said you tend to get more organic with each harvest. Why not cut out the chase and just go all the way?

Grow on, man. Keep keepin' it green!

Philly-Awesome as always man. Have you ever tried coco? If you like the soiless mix I think you would love coco, and with your skills and genetics I think the results would be amazing. Plus the ability to reuse it is a bonus. Either way, keep up the great work.

Peace

Vin-Give me a few days and I will be right on it :rasta: , I will take a few pics of my fimming, or F#cked up fimming :asskick: lol the thing I love is you really cant mess up, anyway it goes you will get at least two tops or a really good topping  lol.

Old Soul-I have used CoCo coir before with clones and young young veg but really no further than eventually placing them in soiless mix. Maybe I will give this a try on future runs I just love my fake dirt so lol :asskick:

PifDaddy- :pimp3: You all ready know my man the Boriquas get much :respect:

mjcuresall-Thanks for you kind words, :rasta:
I used to be concerned about the Dows damaging the Root mass also, but after putting them in the pots at all different times during flower I have noticed no difference or shock to the root mass when placed in 4 or 5 weeks into flowering. My Closest friend who started in this at the same time as I chooses to place his Dows in during the first 2weeks of flower, without tying the plants and as the plants grow and need tying they are tied as needed.

My only answer to your ? about why havent I gone %100 Organic? :puppydoge is as I state to this same best friend who is %100 Organic :hotbounce  , When I started in this years ago I fell on my face for the first 3 harvest :asskick: but it was a multitude of issues including being in way over my head in terms of set up-scope-plant cycles-time-effort-and everything and all with not enough knowledge. My friend has gone the same route except he went %100 Organic a few years back and of course he stumbled at first but now he is a Quasi Master of Organics :rasta: , understanding that in Organics what is in your Soil is %90 of the battle :dueling: . For I on the other hand feel so comfortable with what I have twirked and then re twirked and then re twirked until I am really really comfortable with my harvest in terms of both yield and flavor/aroma :Bolt: even though I know in Organics it would be even better, I guess I would rather slowly drop the chems out of my nutes while coincidentally really concentrating on my Soil additives. To basically answer your ? I have not gone %100 out of fear :puppydoge too nervous about having a sub par harvest or two :nono: going through the natural learning curve but I am slowly moving in the correct %100 organic direction. I eliminated Fox Farm Grow Big from my line up replacing it with Pure Blend Pro which is Organic so I am slowly but surely moving the right way. :canabis:

I know I post alot of nug shots proclaiming how good they smoke, well now its time for some bogus nug shots that really prove what is pretty in terms of aesthetics isnt allways good smoke. This is some supposed Urkle but clearly after smoking this is what I call Purple Beasters, horrible buds their is an awful lot of this floating around capitalizing on the Purple Craze the bud has a incredible visual aesthetically and even smells dank but not like the urkle dank more a purple passion aroma. As soon as anyone smokes it a fraud is annouced in the room lol :cuss: no matter the method used ie ( cigar, bong, joint) only supreme disappointment will follow. The reasons these nugs could be soooooo bad could be a multitude of things from over cheming to not flushing to the obvious that this probably some Purple Power/New Purple Power/Purple Star/Bogus Purp sorry for showing nugs that are truly not ICmag worthy but I just had to get a kick out of good it looks and smells and terrible it actually is.

They Call it Purp I call it PURPLE BEASTERS

As you can tell I obviously love the veg shots and man I am a pessimist in terms of grow products doing exactly what they proclaim because to be truthful most dont live up to their own hype. There are only a few products that I wholeheartedly vouch for as being a difference maker, this being one. Even though it has a ridiculously high price I truly believe it is worth the hype just after two days the Hortilux Blue I surfed around and couldn't find it for cheaper than $200 with shipping and handling so I just grabbed it from the local store for $220, now I have been a fan of Hortilux bulbs for a while and have been using their Super HPS for flower for years, I have tried using Home Depot bulbs and have used SonAgro and Sunmaster and believe that Hortilux is the cream of the crop, now I understand that the cost can dissuade most but if cost isnt a problem please grab one of these, my brethren who runs Organics has the 400watt bulb and feels the same. I am positive that after 48 hours this product is worth it on the back in end :rasta: in terms of yield the plants went absolutely crazy :woohoo: :jump: :headbange :hotbounce :yoinks:  after this Bulb was introduced and I was using a SonAgro MH that had only about 5 weeks total usage so I am a little more than shocked :jawdrop: . These gals are getting transplanted from these what I thought were 1 gallon but are actually .68 gallon pots into their final homes manana.

LETS GO GIANTS GOOOO G-MEEEEEEN
