I like Earth Juice PH up and Down, it's just citric acid crystals for the down and potassium bi-carbonate for the PH up!
The lime isn't that good, unless it's outdoors and it still takes a lot and doesn't really mix with the ions. The potassium bi-carbonate is quick and takes only a little bit, unless you put a lot of nutrients in.
It's the chemistry that can take awhile and it's not really reactive if you just mix it all together and expect lime to sort it out. A lot of my dry nutes, in fact all of them are quite alkaline....the liquids are very much not, and the tap water just needs some citric acid when the soil is new!
I wouldn't use sodium bi-carbonate, I don't know where to get the potassium bi-carbonate anywhere other than the Earth Juice products.

i was mixin nutes lastnight and needed to bring ph up a little,and since i was watering with 1/3 nutes, i used a little spring water to bring it up and it worked great! my feed sched is full strength,1/3 strength,water. thanx fer the tip,its one i can really use!!
thats what i said to you,,but you need to now the ph off your soil (it should tell you on the bag + aim for that)...if you feed is eg.PH9 you soil wont be able to buffer it down (that much).... you need to find out the ph of your soil or its pointless trying to mix nutes to a ph range that your plants need when you dont know what all ready in the pot........you could have some sorta lock out (most likely as you haveing probs) so adding nutes to a already medium that got lock out will only make thing worse.....
find out your ph off the soil (look on the bag),,,,,them flush the hell outa them...5ltr pot off soil= 15ltr off water to flush........then get your feed sorted, and feed away...thay should come good

totaly makes sense to me,highlander! i will find the ph to the soil and take it from there! ph of 6.5 is good rite? for the soil i mean.
yip,,am pritty sure most good brand soils are about 6.5/6.7.....you want to try and get you feed as close to this as you can
