Pest Protection

Hey friends in growing in a basement and I'm very concerned about pests, ESPECIALLY spider mites.. Obviously keeping my room sealed, and the rest of the basement space tidy is a necessity. Does anyone have any other preventative measures I can take to ensure no infestations?? Thanks

change shoes ,change clothes....I used to shower then go into grow...people cause a lot of there problems with bugs....bugs will come in on you if not carefull...yeehaw..filter any air intakes and if exhaust don't run 24/7 find a way to close or filter it too...bugs are sneeky

is all that really necessary trout? i dont know, that just doesnt seem practical. but then again..... neither does trying to grow something with bugs living off it. maybe i should be more careful.

i also am using a basement. its a very old stone wall cellar. i dont see bugs down there. not many. surprisingly. spiders tho sometimes. im hoping some spiders are finding some warmth down there. its a dirt floor that drains itself if it ever floods down there, it doesnt flood much or often. its fairly humid and cool. IDK so far so good

just changing clothes and shoes can help a lot..many growers bring in pest themselves..especially if your around soil,other plants/pets that been outside....filtering intakes helps too..thats why you never see me with pest problems asking for help ..I can count on my fingers how many time I ever got pests in my garden after all these years...yeehaw...you asked and I told ya ...other than regular measures that's what you should do...cooler temps will slow most bugs reproductive cycle FWIW

I've been fighting the borg for a while here, kill them while you can..because they are hard to get rid of once they take hold....I use Azamaz & Azatrol, but change up fairly often.

you guys got me worried! haha, i just put down some DE. cant be too careful right? anyone here use Neem as a preventative or treatment for anything?

I have never had good luck with Neem, probably good for the organic folks...but I want the atomic blaster stuff myself, kill em all
