Thanks water-

Around the same time hemp cultivation began in Chile, the Spanish also attempted hemp cultivation in Peru and Columbia. Attempted and failed. Much of the hemp grown in Chile was shipped to the colonial capital in Lima for army and navy needs. Chile hemp production began in the Quilota Valley north of Santiago, continued there for 400 years. Before WW2 most Chilean hemp was grown in Aconcagua province, noth and west of Santiago. After the war it shifted southwards to small farms in central Chile.

Peruvian Gold aka Mono Rojo
This is your typical street weed and is a NLD cultivar with light color and red hairs. The smoke is similar to Old Columbian and Haze with a sort of Tobacco taste to it. Easy to find.

La Maldita aka La Maldi aka La Morada
La Maldi is of much higher quality and seldom will you find any seeds. Mixed buds one dark purople nearly black with bright hazard orange hairs and light green colored trichomes. The other was bright chonic green with heavy trichomes. Could be from greenhouse production. It is not easy to find.

Very cool thread 😎 I lived deep in the jungles of Peru for around 6-7 months in 2020 and was blessed to meet a local ganja enthusiast in Pucallpa, which was the closest city to the village I was in. He introduced me to some local jungle herb that he said villagers had been growing for many years. He called it pure sativa and it was grown in the dirt, water only, no manures or sprays. The buds were handled roughly and very dry so they lost a lot of resin glands and were full of seeds. That was my primary focus when it came to finding herb so I was quite pleased. They smelled spicy like black pepper, and were quite potent. Very clear, focused, energizing, pure electricity ⚡️ I then met an older Italian gentleman living nearby who was also procuring local jungle herb similar/if not the same, as what I purchased. He had soaked a half kilo in local sugar cane ethanol and made a bunch of hash oil, which he kindly bequeathed to me 🙏🏼 rolling joints with my flowers and then dipping them into the jar of oil was like blowing the top of my skull off. It would put me into trances/deep meditation. Which stimulated rapid and intense energy and information downloads. Without any desire to eat for hours, afterwards the munchies were overwhelming and could easily lead to feeling very full but still wanting to eat 😳

I brought a large bag of seeds back to the USA (Southern California) and have been growing and breeding with them. The smells are incredible, many have the black pepper scent layered with either astringent, or plastic. Some are black pepper and tropical fruit and I have even found expressions that are intensely fruity like almost pure blueberry or tropical fruit twizzler. The smoke is very clear, energizing, and awake. Colors are enhanced, and the desire to meditate on the heart is strong 🧘🏻‍♂️ very positive and in high doses or fermentation cured (Cobbed) it is very intense/psychedelic 😵‍💫

The strongest blueberry expression I have found thus far, is probably the most beautiful in terms of bud structure and the resin shine and size 😍 I have since made many more seeds and have even found males frequently producing resin which when smoked isn't as strong as the females but is still very potent.

Some expressions stretch a lot during flower and others don’t. They can get pretty tall, and I have trained mine to keep them smaller and the tallest ones were around 7-8ft tall. Buds are very loose and stacked. Great resin coverage and thin leaves. Pretty easy to clone, and the plants stay green way into flower and then get yellow leaves which begin to fall off while buds are still green. Can produce nice yields on long branches that are very easy to bend and train. Tolerates poor soil and handles pests with ease 😁

I do not not where the Strain originated, but it is definitely on par with some of the best Africans I’ve sampled such as Malawi Gold. Definitely one of my favorite “Sativas”.

From what i've read, mostly historical fiction (back when i read fiction)...not all the slaves were put into the hold areas of the ships. The young girls (and i suppose a few boys) were kept topside for sex. Preggy girls that were expecting bright skinned babies were top dollar, especially if they learned the new language and customs. Knowing human nature, it makes sense to me. But, i don't know for sure.

I would assume that even an 'older' woman who could cook, would be of high value, and could have possibly brought her 'spices' aboard. There were often long marches to the ports before setting sail, and these things could have been figured out ahead of departure. Just conjecture on my part.
