HAARLEM, Netherlands -- The snow, or lack of, helped authorities in the Netherlands make a big drug bust.

They raided a house near Amsterdam and seized a crop of marijuana plants. How did they know about the contraband?



The roof of the suspect's house was the only one in the neighborhood that wasn't covered in snow, the Telegraph reports. That's a sign of heat, and where there's heat, there's a good chance it's coming from a growing operation.

Dutch police have been using this technique to bust other growing operations in the area.

The Netherlands' doesn't mind people growing or possessing small amounts of marijuana. Large growing operations like the one in this picture are a big no-no.

it doesn't take much to melt snow. I came home once years ago & had no snow on my garage, just from a 150 HPS in there...looked sort of "out of place", ya know?

Still not enough evidence of foul play or in this case drug growing, in my world 'we' would entice cops to bust us, just so 'we' may sue ...for illegal entry, the 'real' factory would be 2 doors up! ...lol
One time a friend had a friend stay over from Hawaii, so cold he cranked up every heater in the house and the oven to get above that crucial 30 C/ 79F ....poor guy was so homesick ...lol

been there done that...had friends with melting roofs but they had regular rooms in their attic...in some places they have real attics you can walk around in and convert it to living quarters..well atleast in new England they do...
