Penguin's Micro Grow III- White Rhino

Well folks, the Penguin is back at it again with some more Nirvana gear!

Have two White Rhino girls below in their 5th week of veg from seed. I plan to flip them to 12/12 on New Year's Eve to kick off the new year with a bang. Woop woop! They will probably flower for about 8-9 weeks. Because of my space restrictions I have made a big effort to start LSTing them down early. You will see more in the pics below.

I was debating letting each girl veg until their pots are covered in foliage and then maybe FIM the growing tips? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I will update the thread once a week from now on.


Two very indica dominant phenos. Very little variation between the two so far. Leaf shape is about the only difference

White Rhino 1, I will call her "Honey"

White Rhino 2, I will call her "Vesper"

Honey's stem bent over and tied down to the left

Vesper's stem bent over and tied down to the right
Both these girls were planted to one side of their pots so that the main stem could grow over to the other side

Couple of questions for you fellas if you don't mind:

Do you think I should be topping any growing tips at this stage or just letting them grow out naturally?

Also, is another 1.5 weeks enough time to veg? I only have 80cm vertical height and I just don't want them to go too crazy when I flip to 12/12 and they start to stretch.

Re: Questions

1) No need to top if your gonna keep up on your LST.

2) Another week n' a half should be perfect. (See answer for number 1)

I say top the primary and use the 1 1/2 weeks to get the 2 resulting tops away from each other. This will boost the growth on the branches.

You dont have to worry about the 2 new tops being behind, I find they catch up and surpass the branches anyway.

Lets see those girls bust the walls outta that cab.

Hey there NE_Grower. Glad to have you here on the thread mate. Have been lurking on your threads for a while so will be great to pick your brain about how to treat these girls along the way! White Widow has been one of my all time faves too.

@ Penguin59: Thanks man and pick away!!!! Id recommend FIM (Fuck I Missed) with LSTing. I have seen it help with internodal growth grow lateral with less stress then topping and still will provide you with mulit tops along with the side growth becoming equal size to the top growth. IMHO i believe this works hand in hand compared to topping and LST. Either way your ladies are looking good and cat wait to see em in flower.

If you want a diagram of the difference between FIM and Topping lmk and ill put it up.

Hey Ozz thanks for taking a look at the new run mate. It wouldn't worry me if you didn't write back to me in your thread, I know you've got your hands full with all that fresh, wonderful, organic bud you just harvested!

chubbynugs, glad you're here buddy. I'm very happy to have a greenhouse grower tagged on my humble micro thread. Things sure are progressing quickly, I'm a bit anxious to see how the stretch goes. I don't have much room to play with if the girls get too unruly!!!

@ NE Grower and Bueno Time, today I ended up FIMing the main growing stem only on both girls. With only a week remaining before the flip, I didn't want to stress the girls out too much by topping everything. I guess we'll see very shortly how the primary shoots respond. Thanks for the advice

Things coming along nicely
The girls' main growing stems have almost reached the other side of their pots now!
Think I will take some pipe cleaners to these girls today and tie down some of the lateral branches that are growing taller than the rest

Thanks Krazy! If you have the time to spend on putting together a soil mix, I would highly recommend it over a hydro setup. You might not get the gargantuan, fat heads that you might see in a magazine from organics but, for me, it's thoroughly more rewarding that way.
