The closet plant is finishing up.
She's looking quite hefty.

The main cola is still foxtailing but I'm not going to worry about it.
I think I'm just going to chop it now.

I drained the planter so that the plant can dry out the soil so that my soil isn't too sloppy to work with.
I'll give it a day or two to dry out.

I'm quite curious to see how much my plant weighs right after I chop it and how much weight it loses when it dries.

Apparently, fresh cut plants are 2/3rds water, but I think my plants are less than half?

I've never been able to weigh an entire plant before, but I have a new scale to weigh the whole thing.
I hope the plant doesn't weigh more than 1 kg.

I was searching for spring scales and all I could find were fish scales that would read up to 40 pounds or more and I didn't think they would be too accurate reading a pound or two.

This is a scale made for teachers to teach science in the classroom.
It's really simple and cheap but the reviews said it was really accurate.

That should do the trick just fine. 😎

Thanks exploziv :thank you:

She's 11 weeks and 4 days old today.
I stopped posting pictures of her because there wasn't any real change going on except for the foxtails.

So I'm going to harvest her at about the proper time.

If she happens to weigh more than 1000 grams, I can cut her in half and weigh the two pieces.

I always hang my whole plant to dry, then trim it up and weigh it afterwards.
I only had my little scale to weigh it and my bathroom scale reads up to 300 pounds, so it's useless.

The humidity went way up with the lights off, so I opened up the bottom more and made the holes bigger on the top.

I'm almost positive that I just saw a fungus gnat flying around inside my window plant dome.
I tried to take a picture but it flew away.
It looked like this...

I chopped and hung my plant.

It was too heavy for the scale, so I had to cut it into three pieces.

So I've got 1430 grams, including the sticks and stems and water.

I might end up with a pound of buds?

We'll see how much the water weighs,..

Great harvest man. Makes me itch to get to mine - had hoped to be chopping by now back when I started in October... heh.

And love the stuff you are doing with the DIY humidity dome. Fuck around and find out is a great way to figure stuff out. tho I spose it has to be fuck around, *observe really carefully*, and find out :D

Thanks alice. :thank you:

My closet plant broke the surface on October 29th.

Yeah, that "serving container" just happened to work perfectly.

My window sill is pretty much reserved for experiments. Lol
I've got lots of buds, so I don't mind risking a failure.
I guess my next experiment is to see what happens with the fungus gnats.

I'm pretty sure that there was some egg laying going on yesterday. Lol

She's looking good, at least for now anyway.
Interesting water droplets on her...
