OK.
I unplugged them.

My original 24 strips on the walls were 3500k and that's what I had plugged in.

I also added 12, 5000k strips to the walls, but they weren't plugged in.

The 3500k strips are protected with sheilds, and the 5000k strips are protected with conformal gell.

The ceiling lights are the only lights on now.
They are 40 inches above the top of the plant. They are turned up to just above the test current, so just about 10,000 lumens total reading just about 6000 LUX at the top of the plant.
The LUX readings climb to 7000 about 2 inches above the plant, so she should be able to grow into the brighter light.

I checked my thread for what I did when I grew that 400 gram plant.

I finally realized that if I turn my phone sideways, I can enter a page number and surf through my thread faster.
I had been going through my stupid thread one page at a time.

I once spent 2 1/2 hours trying to find a post for reference.

I can't seem to get the search to work and I can no longer search my own thread with keywords.

I never get any results...

Anyway, this is one of Reiko's original seeds, the same as what I'm growing now when it had 5 sets of leaves.

As far as I'm aware of, I did everything exactly the same this time and I had the sidelights on with 1 amp total for the side lights.

I have no idea why my current plant is so short with really close nodes.

The only difference is that I changed out my "soil/substrate" with new stuff and new soil mites.

I don't know what the difference is ??

This is what it grew in to...

The only difference that I can think of is that the plant from before was growing in late January.

It's much cooler and drier in January.

I think the lack of side lighting is working.
She has grown/stretched more than an inch in two days.
The node spacing seems to be increasing.

Coming along well!

Thanks.
She is looking good and really getting her stretch on now.

She is 3 weeks and 2 days old today, so she should probably start to flower in a week or two.

I wonder if she will grow to the top of the closet ?

My next decision will be when to turn on the side lights and how bright to turn them up.

Wow she's growing 25mm a day.
I just started a seed of Bruce Banner femminised the other day.

I hope she keeps it up and keeps growing/stretching.

She's got about 95 cm to go to get to the ceiling.
It would be nice to have to top the plant.

Turning off the side lights, seems to have made all the difference.

I don't know much about seeds or strains.
Is that an autoflower you're growing ?

Nah, just a photoflower, I don't like auto's.

I'd prefer photo's in that I could veg them until they were the size I want then flip the lights, but my closet isn't light proof, and everything kept herming on me.

Reiko's Auto seeds have been working great for me, and I've had some huge plants.

My plant has grown about another inch, and she's not flowering yet, so it's just regular growth.
She's still got her flowering stretch to come, so she's well on her way to filling up the closet.

She's looking good !!

I noticed that the older stems on the fan leaves were kinda purplish and the new stems are light green.

I know that a lot of light turns the stems purple like a sunburn, and that reducing the light got my current plant to stretch, but I've sunburned my plants before and they grew big and tall.
I'm doing everything the same way as far as I can tell.

I don't get it ?

This plant was from the same batch of seeds with almost the same environment, and lots of light.

I will be turning on the side lights after I've got a good framework to grow some big buds on.

The big fan leaves may shrivel up and die, and she will need to adjust, but I'm still aiming for a 1 pound plant...

unless I kill it.
that is always possible. Lol

She's another inch taller today.

The first couple of nodes are kinda close together, but all the nodes after that are nicely stretched out.

I'm seeing some preflower pistils here and there, so she's getting ready to start flowering.

I'm getting 8200 LUX at the top of my plant which I guess is plenty because she looks great.

Keeping the side lights off really seemed to do the trick.
I'll keep that in mind for my next plant.

I might set the planter on a milk crate for the start of my next plant to get it closer to the lights, then remove it when she's about a foot and a half tall.

Having the side lights off saves me over a hundred Watts of power which I like, but I'm having a hard time with LIFTA.

It's hard for me to fight the urge to plug them in and crank it up.
I'm only using 8 strips right now (4 double length) out of a total of 44 strips.
I wanna hit the throttle, I feel like I'm suck in traffic. Lol

I fed her another 2 liters of nute solution.
I used half veg nutes and half bloom nutes to get her ready for the transition.

I put it all down the tube to the bottom.
I'm sure she's got roots down to the bottom by now.

I decided to mess with stuff...
(I have been drinking. lol)

It fit perfectly !!

The plastic lip on the bottom of the planter fit inside the plastic lip on the bottom of the bucket.

It's locked in there pretty good.
I feel like an artist. Lol

I turned the lights down to 10,000 LUX at the top of the plant.

Tomorrow, I'll cut the bucket in half, feed it back into itself until it binds, (like stacking the buckets), and screw it together to shorten it.

It's a prototype.
It's too tall right now.

I'm too wasted to do that right now. Lol

It's interesting to see how the big fan leaf on the left completely flaked out.

The fan used to be blowing on it and it was pushing back.

I'm sure that she will lift up by tomorrow, maybe in a couple of hours ??

I checked my garage and found a 2 1/2 gallon bucket.

That's perfect !!

I had to turn my lights up again to bring it up to 10,000 LUX.

Click image for larger version Name:	20210821_185920.jpg Views:	0 Size:	98.4 KB ID:	17923701

I've got a bunch of fan leaves that are completely discombobulated.
Lol

I normally kill my plants with too much light, nutes and water.

Now I'm going to try to kill my plant with wind. Lol

I'll try my my hardest to LIFTA until tomorrow... lol

I'm sure the leaves will adjust...
