pumped bout $12 in gas, went in to pay with a $50 and was told to come back morrow morning for change. i went out n dug up some change n $1 bills n paid for it. 2 days later went back n pumped gas, went in to pay n dropped a bag of pennies on counter n they went everywhere. needless to say cops showed up, but sided with me . outside the cop was laughing his ass off.

Yes. Places do that all the time so my response to them is always the same... Either take my cash or this shit is on the house. their attitude changes real fucking quick.

funny how people can switch up from being a asshole to being polite..

its easier to steal from your credit/debit.. then to give you the wrong amount of change back!!!.. cant give themselves a 20 $ tip.. out of your cash.. but they can do it with your credit card or debit ..

its prob the place you went to.big buisness is being discouraged from taking cash.banks work better with a buisness if all there transactions are electronic.el mark is coming

One time I stopped in at 711 for a donut n coffee on the go, didn't even have a 100$ bill, had a 50$. Keep in mind I already mixed my coffee to go and grabbed my donut. So I hand her the 50$ and she says we can't take that. I said well I already mixed my coffee and the donuts in my hand, the lady responded saying well you're going to have to throw it out. Kinda ranted with her about how it's insane that I even offered to come back to the 711 I frequent often and pay later with a bill not to big for them. She said no policy is to trash it. Couldn't believe it and never went back. Lol

i would have thrown her in the trash.people are starving all over the world and america just throws it all away.that is a really sad story.

Sounds like you are rich man

Dont br surprised, not everyone has 100$ bills

That is completely untrue. Most American's leverage their lives / future income for THOUSANDS / HUNDREDS of THOUSANDS of dollars and run around with DEBT cards. The clowns could easily have $100 bills at any given time, but they are too busy enslaving themselves.

Yea I can relate. U got to pay the cashier and pull out a $100 bill and they just look at it with this dumb ass face. Like its alien currency,

It is ALIEN currency backed by nothing. We are the fools for using it and the cashier's boss is the bigger fool for taking it.

It is a confidence system, and I have no confidence in the system. I will take my very small talents and do the best I can to drop out in the Atlas Shrugged sense of the word.

Was quite the surprise when traveling to have any denomination rejected because it wasn't in pristine condition. I had to go through several 5s and 10s until bills were accepted in se asian countries that otherwise happily accepted us currency.

I was in Buenos Aires just after the newest $20 was minted. The waitress thought it might be fake, showed it around to some other gingos and then decided it would be ok.

She wanted me to accept a 2.8 peso to the dollar exchange rate when standard and pegged was 3.0. I declined pocked my stupid Alien 20, and dropped down Alien Pesos.

The grass feed rib eye sandwich I ate for those Alien Pesos was worth every bit of sweat I put into acquiring the alien script.

Where the hell do you live. Population less than 500 must be. I haven't seen a gas pump where you can pump first and pay second in YEARS. Except Oregon where you aren't allowed to pump your own so the pumps ALWAYS have human attendants.

Great story!

Here in the uk it's a common thing to pump then go in to pay.
meadowman talks in dollars and pennies which confused me a little.

Thanks for the chuckle.

Credit, aka debt, is slavery.
Rick folks don't get rich because they rely on credit.

The eye opener for me was the legal verbage on these "bills", "notes" or whatever you want to call them.

Q.
What is a "note"? (Think car note)

Q.
What is a "bill"? (Think electric bill)

Therefore a note or a bill is...
EVIDENCE OF DEBT!

Hopping some can see through the veil.

I've got 15 X $100 in my pocket..Don't tell anyone......

I've got 15 X $100 in my pocket..Don't tell anyone......

I buy Gold and other things and hundreds are just fine.

I keep them in my pocket as part of my survival kit.

When the SHTF - your credit cards won't work.

 Just don't tell anyone

I've found most businesses will take hundreds if they have enough change.

I have problems paying with £50 notes. I assume its because if it does turn out to be fake then the business is taking a fairly large hit. In certain parts of london all the corner shops check ALL notes with the u.v and the pens and holding to light. Some of those shop owners have their own little ceremony every time you pay with a note. Quite funny really, and more telling about the amount of fakes that, presumably, must be circulating. Not the shop owners fault, they just scared of loosing money to some prick

makes one think of historical examples of hyper-inflation...

No issues with hundreds here....

Just don't try and buy a pack of gum with one.

Paying bills like land taxes, utilities, etc... No problem.

I also paid for my last car in cash $13k....no problem
