I'm not one to deny a man his due, but watching bubbleman's vids where's he's like i got this secret from bbm, its a secret, blah blah blah. I'm going to use my secret blah but i can't tell you.

If its a secret don't mention it in the 1st place! KEEP IT SECRET!

EE - If Sam was going to share his secret technique with me (and there's a big as if of that ever happening..lol) with the provision that it remained private, I'd say no thanks.

When you were shown the technique, you must of asked "why does it has to be a secret?".. what did they say?

Exactly. I wouldn't be surprised if the 'secret' was already being used and they are just in damage control mode.

Wierd thing is even if the secret was out its not as if people are going to rush in and buy screens for a new dry sift gold mine. You need the material to run, and who keeps 3+ month old cured trim/buds around?

edit: the secret probably is that the garbage material in dry sift is attracted to static electricity, while the trichome heads are not. Or that each is positive/negative or vice versa.

Yeah like just look at how much attention this has gotten in this thread so far... Sam probably eats stuff like this up. I've never met him so I can't say too much about the guy, but holding secrets in the eye of medicine is down right greedy. There's no if's and's or but's about it...

If the secret was indeed "static tech" then it's obviously out already... maybe he has a secret static method that he's just not sharing. I'm sure some crazy piece of equipment can accomplish a far superior extraction compared to carding by hand... it's just a matter of someone finding it, and sharing it with everyone pretty much

I think he's copped plenty of flak about it...though it could be argued that if Bubbleman hadn't posted photographs here of Sam's dry sift years ago then would of these newest techniques been as quickly developed or shown? Would dry sifting be more popular than ever?
One thing is for sure, Bubbleman must be glad he doesn't have to keep on showing, smoking and talking about Sam's dry sift along with the cringe enticing "but I can't show you how it's made as it's a secret" cos now that he can talk about these other newer techniques.

Bingo ... and Bubbleman's gonna sell a bunch of screens in the process! Good for him ... he's done it with the bags, but that a whole different story ...

So back to the static ... tomorrow I plan to use a 12" long piece of sch 40 PVC and rub it with wool towel to get a charge and wave it over the sift. Watched a few youtube vids about this process ... I'll report back

They make some cheap simple handheld static wands for toys that employ the van der graaf effect. static inducing wand


I'd imagine with a little tinkering we could make a DIY Van Der Graaf generator suited to this application.

Yeah, there is some good to the greed I suppose in a way. I'm interested in this television technique, as well as this new Rosin technique that I keep hearing about...

And I'm sure Sam could help all of us with some little tid bits of wisdom, I'm not saying he couldn't. I just think he should share his secret if it works so well so other people can enjoy that quality too... all I can picture is him rubbing his hands together with this greedy smirk on his face in his back room with the door locked and just laughing

Now I'm sure it's quite the opposite than this in real life, but it's how he comes off as when you hold secrets that can benefit other people.

On the opposite side of the spectrum - I'm not sure how big the difference is between all of our sift and his is to be honest. Maybe 3%? 4%? 5% even? I know static tech has the ability to remove upwards of 95% contaminant from the starting material (considering you bounce the material lightly and don't push through all of that leaf matter), and I was able to learn how to yield 95% heads in under 2 weeks. If I can do this than anyone else can, so we almost don't even need to know his secrets as of now...

TM... I saw your posted pic... Sammy has nothing on u... your hash looks cleaner then his... fuk him and his secret... maybe Sammy was the shit years ago, but his time is passed... I've grow his seeds, and the weed sucked... maybe the grower (me) sucked... BUT.... I put out the seeds for the birds, and even they didn't eat em...

All the persons bashing Skunkman Sam should read this twice and really, if you dont appreciate that Sam wont share his technique (btw, he mentioned that he wanted to avoid the technique to be commercialized, so other people get rich on his findings) then appreciate all the knowladge that was shared by him. Do you think he gain it for free? He must have spent a lot of money to get there. Moreover many strains are here because he again shared seeds for FREE. So lets be fair and dont be so negative, be happy that full melt sift is now available to the public and enjoy, no need for other emotions...
