Panama Haze - Ace

H

Hu73

Has anyone grown Panama Haze? I'm about to start some of these and wondered about tips and tricks anyone could tell me about. My plan is to top twice, as well as training and bending. Usually I don't like to use a net as it can get awkward moving the plants in their rotation around the grow-room. The room is 3.5 feet x 6.5 feet and is lit by one 400 watt HPS, one 400 watt halide and two ultraviolet t-5s (55watts each). The medium is 100% organic soil and the pot sizes are 3.5 gallons. No fertilizer is ever used.Any help would be great."Kind words cost little, count much" Kirpal Singh Ji

I finished of a pair of the fem version a couple months ago. You'll want to keep them in small containers well into the stretch to keep them from over growing your room. I only have a little more height available in my room than you and one of them was reaching for the top.
I think you had better hope for a Panama pheno or try running clones to keep them smaller.

Thanks Lean Green, I'll definitely try both smaller pots and clones. The reason I bought this strain is that Ace stated they didn't use any indica in the genetics. These are fem as well. Would you describe the effect of the feminized Panama Haze from Ace please? Also do you think it would be better to flower 12/12 for the whole flowering cycle or should the light be gradually go down, say to 11.5 then 11 and even down to 10.5?

Use LST (low stres training) if yoour plant gets too high.
If you use a 11/13hours light/darkness after the stretch has stopped you can reduce the flowering time sgnificantly (how much depends on the phenotype of course).
B.T.W. the flowering times Ace gives for long flowering sativa's are if you use this schedule.
Correct me if I understood this wrong Dubi.

Thank you, Siever for taking the time to educate me. Great that you confirmed that less than 12/12 is called for in long flowering sats. Well, its daylight so I'm off to mow some lawns. Peace

I posted some pics of the Panama Haze in my Green Haze x Panama thread. The effects of the Fems are very similar to the standard version that I wrote a little report on a few years ago. I would definitely reduce the photoperiod as flowering progresses, even down to 10/14.

I'd love to see pics of them when you get them going.

Thanks Lean Green for confirming that ending the flowering of the Panama Haze at 10 light and 14 dark is the way to go. Possibly, in future, pics will be possible. This is my first computer, which I've had for just under a year, and at this time I don't know how to take, let alone post pictures. I have one set of pictures on my first smartphone of my last trained Blue Dream which was kept to under two feet. if I can learn how to send pics , they will be sent. Have patience, I'm nearing 70 and the learning is slow. My plan is to remove a bureau from the grow closet thus giving a full 8' length with the same 3.5' width. Also I'll be using only halides, no hps, plus either 4 uv a and b t5s or two of those and one 160 watt reptile clear

(continuation) mercury vapor. Have been experimenting with uv light for about 25 years and can say that the potency increase is extreme when using uv supplementation. There is a slight loss in weight. To me it is justifiable. Peace, out

Sorry I will not be able to run and finish the Panama Haze and Purple Haze x Malawi. They would both take atleast 10 months to veg/scrog a entire 5' x 5' area and flower them. Reason being is I am moving and will now be able to grow outside. I can't wait to finally be able to pop all my saved Ace and other beans to see what they can really do. Going to be working on breeding with Aces Double Thai and CBGs Mextiza. Will also be crossing some of the Thais with Pure hazes and such. Really big Sativa plants, I love the sound of that. Best of luck to everyone.

Hi Lean Green, the last year has been real challenging health-wise. Hopefully, I'm well again. The Fem Panama Haze will be started on 03/08/16, the new moon. I cleand and disinfected the closet and found it is actually 9 feet long, so there will be 3 400 halides plus some uv. I'm only going to plant 2 of Ace's P. Haze and the rest will be Apollo 11, A13, Carnival and Grapefruit. I need a quick crop. Also C99. Can I take pics with a cellphone and send them to IC Mag?

Ace Panama Haze

The Panama Haze females are up and running, they are real happy looking. They are in 4 inch square pots with a lean soil mix. I'm still trying to figure out how to send pics, sooner or later, hopefully, I'll learn how.

Hi Hu73,

Topping and bending is the way to go if you plan to flower Panama Haze from seed in a small indoor splace.

ValleyKush did a great job taming his Panama Haze indoors in a small space, his grow is a good example of how to achieve great results with your growing conditions:

Feed them gently after the 3rd week of life, but try to keep the N low in late veg/early flowering to avoid too much stretching or delay in flowering. You can increase a bit the feeding when their height and flowering is already well established.

Let us know if you have any doubt. Best wishes!

Hi Dr King,

I'm sorry to hear you were not able to finish the cycle this time.
I'm looking forward to see your results with the Haze hybrids after your excellent Oldtimer's Haze run. I'm sure you will be able to tame them in the next grow.

Best wishes for all your sativa projects!

Thanks Dubi, all is well. All will come in time I am very patience no worries. Next year will bring a new age for me as I got some green house light deps that need to be filled with pure Ace to see what these babies can finally do :). More on the topical weather side so I can push it to the limits and even do the Double Thai outside in the beautiful bright sun. Gonna run a complete list of Ace gear (love the breeder packs btw), plant count total is gonna hit 40. 20 gallon pots to big for my Ace gear Dubi? Just wondering cus I don't wanna go to over board, thanks man. Panama Haze and Purple Haze x Malawi will be in that line up, 3 of each. List ranging from 10 weekers to 24 weekers. Best of luck to everyone.

Hi dubi, Thanks for the encouragement. The Ace Panama Haze feminized are looking beautifully. They were about 14 inches high, then I cut the main stalk which left four nice horizontal branches which I've topped twice. They are in 1 gal pots in a real lean mix: 13 parts Pro-mix HP, 2 parts Fox Farm Ocean-forest and 1/2 part First Amendment Super-soil. You can tell that they love the mix, the others, such as Bodhi's Apollo 11 g f4s and Motarebels A13s needed a richer mix. So I can probably keep them going horizontally at a height of about 1 to 2 feet and will put them in 12/12 this week. They are just about 4 weeks old. Just received some Ghanna seeds from Cannabiogen as well as Sage, a free First Lady and some free Guatemala Quetzalita. Also am growing Queen Mother. After this I may start some of the Ace seeds I've been hoarding: Malawi, Bangui Haze and Orient Express. The Kiriki from French Touch are the slowest of the current planting, but I'm patient.

Forgot to mention that after topping the P Haze fems I started 6 cuttings and they are the picture of health. Only problem, where to fit them. My vague plan is to give two away, and train the other 4 along the walls as one would an espaliered pear or apple. Hopefully the two 315 watt ceramic metal halides will arrive soon. Then I'll have 2 CMHs, one 400 enhanced metal halide (Ushio) and either 4 t5 UV lights, or 2 t5s and 1 160 watt reptile light (clear mercury vapor).

H

Hu73

The two feminized Panama Haze are growing well in 3 gal pots with 12/12 light/dark. Right now I'm not topping them, just bending with my fingers and there are weights on some of the branches. Around the beginning of July, after the Apollos, Grapefruit, Queen Mother and C 99s are harvested, the light cycle will go down in increments, 11.5, 11 and am hoping 10.5 hours light will get them to ripen.

Hu73

So the Panama Haze are growing like WEED! Weeds, that is. I have too many plants, about 20 I think, in the growroom so the P Hazes are not getting the horizontal training they were started with. They are still flexible, so I will tie them down shortly. Some of the other strains will have to go outside to make room for the sideways space the P Hazes will be given.
