Paint or Mylar. Pro's and Con's.

Just wondering opinions on pro's and con's for mylar vs paint.

Such as...

Max light reflection.
Heat Issues.
Cost.
Difficulty.

From my experience it looks like paint is going to be easier but maybe not as good as mylar?

Also for paint what kind is suggested.

mylar is slightly more reflective than white paint, i think the difference is something like 95% vs 90% for white paint, so mylar wins there.

Not sure if there are necessarily heat issues with either one, although while you can ensure paint is flat and even and reflects light evenly, it would almost be impossible to make mylar completely flat. when it wrinkles, the light it reflects becomes concentrated in certain 'hotspots' which could potentially hurt your plant.

white paint is cheaper for sure, unless you get an emergency blanket for the mylar but im not sure how much they are or how well they work.

white paint is about as simple as it gets, just paint that shit on. mylar seems hard to attatch and messy if you ask me.

I could see being able IF cut pretty close to perfect to spray adhesive the mylar pretty damn flat and flattening it along the way.. but paint seems to be just way easier.

flat white paint allows you to refress your surface whenever you want to its cheaper mylar reflects i.r. heat were paint exsorbs most i.r. heat paint allows you to seal in bug/mold spores if u get them were as mylar gives them a place to hide ur not even gonna notice a diffrence in how bright it looks paint reflects 85-93% mylar reflects 90-95% i personal use paint it works great and theres many many others here who use paint

" Reflectix " is by far the best light diffusing product on the market bar none..........It`s reflective wrapped bubble insulation that helps control ambient temps as well..........Mylar is way overrated and has hotspots from hell and worse everywhere it kinks and crinkles up...

Ultra flat white bathroom mildewcidal paint is the best growroom paint there is......Ya`ll take care......DHF......... :joint: ..........
