Personally I felt the shark tank was highly overrated. Perhaps there is some small sense of satisfaction at honing their rapier like wit to a fine edge? It can quickly become boring though unless you have a constant flow of new challengers to take down a notch or two.

When the world's largest websites for cannabis growers and enthusiasts disappeared from the web on Monday, January 30, it was thought to be a server problem.

As the week dragged on, tens of thousands of members, seed company sponsors, growers and fans worried there might be more than mere 'server' problems as Richard Calrisian (a pseudonym) had not made any statements in any web based media about any 'technical' problems.

Now it appears Heaven's Stairway Seeds (hempqc.com), Cannabisworld.com, Overgrow.com, Eurohemp.com have been shut down and the owners arrested in Canada; all their web properties seized, including the physical servers that held massive databases on thousands of growers, and tens of thousands of photographs of cannabis plants. Seed companies by the dozens used both Overgrow.com and Cannabisworld.com as a main trading ground. Over 40 seed companies had customer service interactive forums on these sites.

All the information held on those servers is now in the hands of police. It is not known what charges have been laid nor against whom. That police have not boasted about this seizure means the investigation is continuing, before any affected parties can react. Cannabis Culture began receiving emails on Wednesday saying Richard Calrisian and his wife had been arrested along with four employees, but this could not be corroborated.

On the website www.icmag.com, seed merchant Gypsy Nirvana, operating from England where cannabis seeds are legal, posted this news late Friday:

“It is with great sadness that I bring you the news that RC and HS, OG and CW have been taken down by the authorities in Canada.....
...I have it from a bonofide source that it happened on monday and RC's computers/servers have most probably been siezed, they spent 2 days going thru his house and removed alot of stuff ...

His wife and some members of his family were also taken into custody and it's possible that she may be released tommorrow on bail... There has not been a peep in the media about this so there could be a reason why it was not advertised by LEO......BE WARNED! not to try and log on to Overgrow or Cannaworld for now since most certainly the security of that site has been compromised and if it comes back up without me first hearing from RC then it is NOT being run by him.....think about it!

...This could bring up some real security issues with many Overgrow/Cannabisworld members.........be warned guys and do what you need to do to make it safer for all of you.......duck and cover if needs be....

I started on OG back in 2000. At that time the site was still pretty cozy and fairly small. BOG was the big celebrity there then. I loved his style of posting where he shared his buds with us by showing pics of him rolling, pics of his burning joints, and piles of kif. That style of posting was as close as you could get to inviting the community to share a smoke.

As far as feeling wierd about talking about OG on this site, I bet even Gypsy wouldn't mind. He appreciates what OG did for the weed world. Toward the end of OG, it had become too big for it's own britches in certain ways. There were a TON of people who didn't share the same peaceful mind set of the early years. It was becoming the MTv of weed sites. ICMag provided a fresh start for those of us who wanted that old-time Overgrow camaraderie. The stern posting rules and attention to order (by Mods and Admin) here at ICMag have saved it (IMO) from becoming crowded with too many douchebag trolls.

Yep been a long road to follow and arrive back here.....

Same time frame like y2k just like CC said man. BOG was all over OG before it went up big we all used to check out his planting methods and he would show how he took his solo cups and sliced the bottom right off and transplanted right into another larger bucket of his mix.

Dude always had shots of trimming scissors with his buds all blinging out. Just fire.

I really miss the bros grimm. Mr. Soul and SLY are you guys still with us on this journey? Shit man I sure hope so somewhere out there they are still holding all that grimm heirloom stuff for a new DROP one day soon....man how awsome would that be?

Actually what was even more fucked up, in my opinion, was how the Online Growing Community reacted afterwards. Here we all were scattered all over a handful of smaller less known sites. Trying to figure out what happened to our website and turning on one another out of paranoia, fear, rage and panic.

I mean, a lot of people were justified in being upset and paranoid. RC kept heaven's stairway on the same server as OG. After people got busted who's order's were in transit, it was hard to say what info LEO had. I know I deleted my account here and didn't come back for like 9 months.

Got my inspiration from an OGer called Maliboo who started the whole C13 grow cabinet craze. Built my own C13 and then moved on to tents. I sure do miss those days.
