Overcomplicating a grow........ Or: K.I.S.S.!

I like how I still have about 10% left of my 1-lb bag of jack's pro hydro and calcium nitrate... 10 months worth of nutes for about $15 I think it was...

Still have plenty of bloom booster left as I got that a couple of months ago... question is do I use the booster straight or mix with the veg nutes? I've been doing the latter.

Only problem with the blossom booster is that its a pain to get in comparison with the jack's pro.

Here's a budshot of jack's pro-grow 'erb:

I'm all organic, Strain Hunter knows this ;) but I agree completely...Chems or organic, the bullshit marketing is all you're paying for with these self-proclaimed "high-end" nute lines. It's a plant that is easy to grow and easy to grow well. A plant growing in a properly amended soil with plenty of compost has everything it needs from start to finish, and will take it as needed.

CRAAAAAAZY!!!!!!! VERY nice!

Looks like TONS of bubble hash from the clippings!
:good:

Actually, I think I'm going to keep the sugar leaves on and smoke them... save some time.... =D

Stats: Sour Bubble x Grape Skunk, 300w LED (with 100w of cfls here and there), in 1-gallon roots pots, 100% perlite.

Fed Jack's Pro Hydro + Blossom booster, bottom fed every other day or so. Maybe every 2-3 days, its easy to tell how dry the medium is just by looking at the roots bag.

Am flushing right now. What I also dig about jack's is a little bit added to tap will buffer the ph without adding hardly any ppms....

Edit: read somewhere recommending a 3-week flush when using these ferts... I agree, especially when using perlite in my case, them salts get all in them nooks n crannies

In the past (not this grow) I have forgotten to flush. No one noticed a difference though.
If you want to get out of those bags what might have accumulated in there...you could do what I have done in the past and fill a large bucket or tub with water and then just dunk them bags in there a few times letting what ever comes out run off.

For the fun of it I measured the PPM before & after run off.
There was a noticeable difference although I do not remember the details.

I replace the booster nutes with the vegging ones.

Not running anything else besides the 10-30-20

I get mine once every few years in a 40lb bag. Last time (2 years ago) it was $45.00

EXCELLENT... by the way, dumb mistake on my part... when odering anything online, NEVER buy from a shop that adds shipping 'later'...

This is how I ended up paying $20 in shipping for 1lb of nutes... Arrfgghh!!!

This was b/c for some reason jack's doesn't sell the bloom directly... Oh well!

Never click 'SUBMIT ORDER' unless the shipping fees are up there!!! :gday:

you must be reading my mind, am going to soak all the salts out of my grow bags.

as far as flushing, interesting. I just like to flush so that it doesnt snap crackle n' pop, burns white. My herb so far is passing the test!

As you know, I use Jack's exclusively. It's available locally, but I usually order bigger bags: lasts forever, costs virtually nothing, allows for huge harvests. What's not to like? :)

When I was first starting out, researching nutes, I came across a thread on the old Cannabis World. CW was more like IC - many pros and advanced growers. Several folks referred to Jack's, specifically, citing the use of salts that didn't burn the plants as easily. After checking out their other threads and looking at their gardens, it sure looked like they knew what they were doing. I mean, at that time as an outdoor grower, I couldn't even dream of an indoor garden optimized to such a degree. So, I gave it a shot, too. Now, some years later, I wish I could go back and really thank those folks for pointing me in this direction.

What exactly do you use? I've seen folks refer to Jack's but haven't found the specifics. Thanks.

Cool, thanks.

edit--nevermind. I must have been stoned when I read this earlier. I see that you already listed your specifics. Thanks.

Here is a fresh pic what you too can get using the same ferts I listed.
And I mean those ferts ONLY.
Nothing else.

If interested check the links in my sig for the rest of the story.

It's just like any other hobby. Take guitar for example. some folks spend all their time getting the XLR-9000 pedal, and the Zoomba Stratocaster with chrome exhaust, etc. And some just spend the time playing and practicing. Guess who gets good in the end?
