Outsourcing Seed Production

Doesnt he get to keep the weed?????

I also presume the parent stock isnt unknown.....simply not identified to the producer....

Have you ever seeded an entire plant?
There's not much left to smoke after removing seeds.

(The producers) Parent's would be unknown to the wholesale seed purchaser & therefore unknown to potential consumers.

Either way... The wholesale purchaser would be making bank heads & tails over the folks actually doing the work.
This is why breeders are moving toward social media for moving their seeds. They do the work & make the bank.

Anyway...
This is kind of off topic & I've nothing more to say about it.

well then let me say something...

Im not sure that I would take the breeder up on his offer.....

But the good thing....its a free market and both sides have to be happy for a deal to be struck....

Ive seeded plenty of plants and you certainly dont have to seed it so heavy you create inferior seeds....

Cannabis plants are like apple trees.....too many fruits and they end up being inferior....

An outsourcerer recently contacted a friend of mine & offered them $1 a seed for his productions using unknown parent stock.

Right there I see a problem w this outsourcerer.
First $1 a seed for the producer... When most go for no less than $6 each, the producer is getting jacked, imo.

If the producer were given parent stock in order to produce the seed they should get even more, imo.

Too many greedy middle men.
Producers don't get paid for their worth.

I may have been talking about a different scenario than something like this. In what you are discussing, some company was like "aye dude, make any old seeds with whatever plants and we will buy them for a buck a seed" if I am understanding it correctly. Basically resulting in some mystery seed getting sold to the public, that is a practice I concur is bullshit and don't back. I was thinking more along the lines of something like dj short, looking at a high demand for seeds, saying "hello random grower, take this male and these females and let it all go to seed, will give you a buck a seed for your work." Whatever breakdown of compensation is between the two parties.

Hes not sayhing that at all...

The breeder provides an unidentified male and female to the grower..... the breeder simply doesnt share with the grower what the name of the plants are....

I might not be interested at a buck a seed....but at two bucks I would put pencil and paper on it....

He just used an not so precise word....he used unknown....when unidentified is better...

I dont know anyone selling random seeds....unless its for parrot food....

^^Your both correct

Although... Unidentified is definitely a better term...

And the offer was for my friends parents... Not known breeding stock such as one would get from a reputable breeder.

Oh... And Budley, I've only done one chuck where I left the male w the females for a week or two, starting about 2-1/2 weeks into flower. Most of the seed was mature after 50 days. Very few aborts & very few green seeds were present after sorting.
