Outdoor weed associated with "pine taste"

Most of the outdoor in my area has a pine taste but whenever I taste outdoor grown by freinds it can by fruity. Basically I'm saying I think the reason most of the outdoor has a piney taste is becuz it's grown in africa and I doubt they use genetics like sour diesel. thats just here tho, i dont bout the US

outdoors (that we buy) are always fluffier.
always less manicured.
and always dryer...
3 simple things that make it obvious that they are outdoors.
