i can see why you guys say above 9-10,000 feet may not be optimal, but it's good to hear the high elevation theory is plausible and perhaps even probable, assuming the cold season don't cut ur grow short

one thing though, remember that in high elevations in the tropics, like Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta in Colombia, or any place in the Andes that can be considered to be at a tropical latitude, there isn't really any spring or fall or shorter days...
i'm in the tropical andes myself, and at any elevation here, from the lowest point which may be around 700meters (2100feet) up to 5000meters (15,000feet) the sun shines 12hours a day all year long. actually, on June 22 it is 12.5 hours of daily sun light and on December 22 it is 11.5 hours of daily light. this means the plants will get to finish for as long as they want. there are some colombian sativas that may take up to 8 months to finish!

btw Stoner133, coca is one mysterious plant for sure! Evo Morales, the new elected president of Bolivia, is fighting for the total legalization and toleration of this plant, he in fact said La Hoja de Coca No es Droga (the coca leaf is not drug!).
