Diary Outdoor Tropical Test Grow #4 - Sand to the Beach

Sunday, 14-08-2022
Supplemented feed today with my Beneficial Booster. Foliar sprayed the last two nights with The Amazing Doctor Zymes Eliminator for IPM. Except for testing before use, I followed instructions exactly and have noticed no phytotoxicity. Will report on effectiveness next week after completing initial 3 day treatment tonight.

SLH.1. Plant coming along nicely and is in flower. Secondary stems shooting up from mainlines.

SLH.2. Plant continuing to look good and is in flower. Secondary stems from mainlines so tall I decided, in the moment and not planned at all, to tied them down yesterday. I realize this is not fully in line with quadlining but I went for it.

The Church.1. Plant continuing to look good and is in flower. Secondary stems from mainlines so tall I decided, in the moment and not planned at all, to tied them down yesterday. I realize this is not fully in keeping with quadlining but I went for it. Broke one of the lower mainlines where it attaches to the stem 😞.

Plants almost at final structure. Bud sites developing.

Significant rain this week so I was only able to do one midweek feeding. Did foliar spray with Cytokin. Totally messed up and overdosed 4X, should have done less than 2 ml/liter but used the one gallon dose of 7.5 ml 😞. Thankfully, I have seen no obvious signs of phytotoxicity but I will need to remember this overdose of hormones and keep watch for any negative consequences.

The Amazing Doctor Zymes Eliminator treatment last week seemed to have reduced the aphids to near zero. It's expensive but if it continues to work it will be a valued part of my IPM. Noticed minor tip burning of substantial number of leaves after third consecutive treatment with The Amazing Doctor Zymes Eliminator but that coincided with the immediate area around the pots being cut with a whipper that definitely did minor damage from flying debris so I am not sure what the actual cause was. Repeated treatment yesterday and will attempt to maintain the weekly preventive schedule.

SLH.1.

The Church.1. The broken mainline does not seem to be healing but the growth on that stem does not appear to be affected.

Foliar sprayed yesterday with The Amazing Doctor Zymes Eliminator (TADZE). Plants continue to seem pest free since starting to use TADZE.

Only one midweek feed due to pots being saturated with rain on previous weekend. Supplemented feed today with Beneficial Booster comprised of 50 ml molasses, 125 ml EMAS and 15+ ml~ Recharge in 12 litres stored rain water with the molasses diluted in 950 ml filtered tap water, rain water EC=0~, final EC 1.7.

SLH.1. Stretching up and out and looking good. Top-dressed midweek with 100 ml EM Bokashi Bran.

Those are looking fabulous AC. They are loving that tropical sun . . . and . . . you obviously know your way around a garden. Good job! :rasta:

I just germ'd 3 x The Church myself (indoor) so I am watching your progress. I grew it once before a few years back and I can certainly tell you that it is a very hardy plant. I started 2 seeds in a full hydro system - Undercurrent DWC - and in late veg, it sprung a leak when I was at a convention in Vegas for a week. My wife bailed the tent out and the tip of the plant's roots were left in a small pool of fetid water for 6 days. When I finally got home, I scrapped the full hydro system and bought some 10 gallon cloth pots and coco/perlite and I replanted them in that. I needed 10 g because I had 10" of hardened roots with just the tip of them still flexible. The damn plants thrived! They didn't seem to miss a beat and I brought them to a successful harvest with a decent return of some fine herb. I still have a scrap of some bubble hash left. I know that people like to shit on Green House but my Church grow convinced me that they know their breeding.

Thank you! That means a lot. I am trying ;)

Lol actually seeing some members here give objective reports about their GHSC grows was one of the reasons I joined the site.

first post o_O
plants are looking nice, I love their shape and training
have you thought about vegging them under some cheap sils for a month, then putting them outside...?
I love tropical grows
Thank you, I appreciate it (y):D. What are these "cheap sils"? From context I figure they are some kind of lighting and that is definitely not an option for the foreseeable future but its always good to learn.

I have been debating whether to do a diary or not. I thought that the last one I did was boring - although a boring grow is usually a good one since nothing went awry. ;)

Here is some inspiration for you. The Church. This was my larger plant a couple of weeks before harvest back in 2018. It was only my 2nd grow and with the media transfer (udwc to coco) mid-grow, I am still amazed that I pulled it off.

Objectivity is never a problem here at IC. Have you seen some of the Haze threads?

I guess because I never really looked into it, my assumption was that I needed those large flat panel LED for lighting but LED SILs might just be a solution I can use on a couple plants in the future. Thanks for the Heads Up (y)

Nope, they are perfect for vegging (and flowering in my set-up)... but man, tropical climate !? I need to see this lol
Very nice grow and good happy plants, I can't understand how growers can keep them green with organics
