outdoor triangle

thanks for the compliments much needed this year. i have already been planning for next year. the changes that i have decieded on so far are Garden placement moving the garden around a little bit because i do not cut trees on my property trying to let nature takes its course for the next 10 years since the people before me didnt give a FUCK. Also bigger pots for sure, we did 400s and 200s this year. we also put 4 in 400s and i think i like that for over yield but the single plants look just as great so we will see. the 4 plants ina pot were planted in july tho. Also taking all the best phenos i find this year are planting those for next year along with my infamous CHERRYPIE.

Thanx for the insights mofoo. I'm planning for summer down here in the southern hemisphere (aus) 200gals dumpots and hopefully a Xmas light dep. U norcal boys really push the envelope so stoked ur crop looks tight mate

hey guys MOFOO here, need some help from the dawwwgs with trees and knowdlege (StankDAnk,Mendo,Schrews,Milky) and anyone else who got it going.

The temps have been dropping here and my garden has been getting shaded much earlier, i can feel that wetness in the AM and i know PM is coming, i have seen it on a couple leaves here and there but its so minimal i think it might be water blotches or something but i went ahead and sprayed with H202 first and then Greencure 1/2tbls per gallon and Serenade 1 oz per gallon and mixed it and sprayed, and it looks like the "blotches" or PM is still here so I'm treating it as a case of PM

my plants are super healthy i would feel so i don't think its like milky said and saying theres something off if you see PM i think its just the rapid cold/wetness I'm getting early.(new spot 3200ft) so my question to you guys is what do you think i should do ? keep spraying even tho its raising the humidity and water is sitting over night? should i get out there and leaf blow in the am? it stays cool and wet until about 10 am and starts again at 6

thanks guys for your help gonna spray h202 and go with your guys advice from there

Ive hit them 2wice so far with green cure the last time at normal dosage not half dose and am still seeing pm spots the next day after spraying hard the afternoon before im at a loss, gonna wait to see what the guys have to say about your question before I go further.

I'm about done doing preventative sprays for pm. We use act's, actinovate and green cure.

I used to use kali green which is potassium bicarbonate plus a wetting agent once I saw it spreading. It can be used on grapes a day before harvest, although grapes have a skin and can be washed. It changes the ph so pm can't survive and oxidizes it. The downsides are it will burn your pistils, your plants will smell like sulfur for about 5 days, and it just knocks the pm back and prevents it from growing for about 4 or 5 days.

Once you see PM, it's there. There is more pm spores naturally in the environment each year than the year before, due to global warming. You can keep it in check and knock it back with sprays and keeping your plants as healthy as possible.

Your plants are healthy, hope you can keep it in check and prevent it from getting on your flowers.

how is this helping me bud? ive read it three times and its not giving me any extra info i didnt already know, thanks anyways.
sorry if i misunderstood you, but it seems you didn't know that water/wetness is not causing your PM.

i can feel that wetness in the AM and i know PM is coming

should i get out there and leaf blow in the am?
Unlike most fungi, powdery mildew spores do not need water for germination. Some species require high humidity, but the moisture provided at the leaf surface when cold nights change to warm days or when plants are grown in crowded, low or shady locations without sufficient air circulation is sufficient to initiate an epidemic.
" Although relative humidity requirements for germination vary, all powdery mildew species can germinate and infect in the absence of free water. In fact, water on plant surfaces for extended periods inhibits germination and kills the spores of most powdery mildew fungi...."---- u.c.davis

you were right on that notion. im not sure thats occurring but what i was trying to say is tht i didnt think it was PM at first cause it looked the like water had dried up in the am and made spots. about the leaf blowing should go out there and leaf blow to help lower humidity since its stays shaded and cold all AM. Get the air flowing a bit.

but if you look at the two links you sent me one of them says
"
In fact, water on plant surfaces for extended periods inhibits germination and kills the spores of most powdery mildew fungi. "

and the other one says
" . Some species require high humidity, but the moisture provided at the leaf surface when cold nights change to warm days or when plants are grown in crowded, low or shady locations without sufficient air circulation is sufficient to initiate an epidemic."

so im kind of stuck in between. i think the moisture is raising the humidity because it stays very shaded all morning keeping the humidity real high and temperature at asweet spot for that PM.

i figure that the PM came from a fruit tree or bush, and is enjoying the gardens higher humidity due to the lack of sun in the am and the wetness being around all morning, but its very difficult to take those TWO posts and compare them when they aren't neccessarily saying the same things.

thanks for the post tho just trying to chop it up with some of you Gs

going to go ahead and give them a nice wash with h202 then spray my tea's and maybe water a little less more often to help keep the spikes in humidity from happening. also treat with actinovate bi-weekly. thanks guys

the top garden gets great sun (where the previous owners chopped trees) and the bottom house garden is the one covered in the trees so i was thinking about taking down trees 75ft from the crib and out due to fire protections.

someone said i could i get a violation from not having a safe fire perimeter so im going to look into a little more, trying to get a solution for now i wish i had that sun tho! life goes on.
