What's the farthest/closest you've ever smelled your crop.

Please share strain, size, number, phase of growth, and weather {if you can remember these things}

I'm still not sure about some spots I have picked.......I've never grown to much that I've worried about this before.

Totally depends on the strain IMO. Couple years ago I had two 4 ft purp bushes on my balcony that I could smell from the street (like 80 feet away and atleast a 25 ft drop in elevation). Fact is they probably could have been smelled from alot further away if the wind was blowing it in the right direction.

lets see, one plant, about 8 inches high, could smell it for at least 200 ft probly going on to 250 maybe even 300 with a light breeze. oh strain was purple kush btw.

Ive haven't grown yet, but would this smell be completely obvious to people that go near them? If an average person that doesnt smoke pot goes near will they be like Ok someones growing weed here?

no, but they will wonder where the smell is coming from. and now with tv and the net every1 knows a little about how cannabis looks

C99 and Northern Lights are pretty low on odor from what I hear and still pretty potent.

everyone says C99 is low odor, but it actually smells quite strongly of citrus. But a smell like that is less likely to attract attention compared to something kushy or skunky. I grow indoors, but I love the smell of Trainwreck so much I am thinking of growing one in my living room or patio so that my whole house smells of the 'wreck. Natural air freshener! But honestly, i wonder what non-smokers would think if they smelled flowering trainwreck or snowcap, since the smell kinda like bathroom deodorant in the first place, i'm not sure people would think it was weed. But y'all outdoor growers know more. The outdoor grow I have seen didn't seem to smell at all until you were right on it, and it included all kinds of strains, dozens of plants, very stanky when you touched them.

Hell ya...playing with buds or plants makes the smell worse....wind is a factor there...
