they are on 24hrs 9600k t4 CFL's ... the Erd-Purts look the strongest out the bunch so far but we'll see when they're a bit older if they will be the winners , i'll stick the HFH scottish seeds in tonight and let them get on with it ,

Is hashplant2 mould resistant?

I really want to get some of the Scottish seed too, and just maybe some purple Nepal, so as to try something different.

Well i spoke to Esben about them and he said the Hashplant2 will do fine here... now i have the Scottish too which is a good performer so I'm confidant of finding a good all rounder either this year or next .. i might try landraces in the 2012 season like Leb 27, Parvati, Mazar-i-sharif ....etc ,

Am i right in thinking that any of the landrace strains that can survive up here would make a good father plant?

I was thinking about HFH Purple Nepal from this point of view.

The problem with the landraces is most wont finnish on time unless its a early strain ..thats why im going with the northern genetics because some are semi-auto and some are fully auto that helps with the 17-18hrs of light we get in mid summer ...no re-veging .i not too sure about me making crosses yet, i just want to see some proven genetics out there before i think about crossing them .... it will be interesting to see what you plan to cross mosstrooper.. try looking at swiss genetics .

HFH Purple Nepal reports to be broadly land race, plus it looks awsome (not a huge issue i know). Also reports to be mould and high humidity resitant. Makes sense since Nepal is very high:laughing: and misty.

I think im gonna try and cross that with Frisian dew for a first experiment.

Might be worth selecting a male from the Scottish to cross to Frisian dew too, then compare both the following year for vigour, mould resistance and potency.

i think thats a good idea to cross the Purple Nepal with the Frisian dew you might get the best ones out of the f5 or f6 when its stabilised ... or just toss any good male pollen onto Frisian Dew and see what you get ... any good ones that come out of it ...keep them and grow them out next season.

Thats something im thinking about too, to create a mould resistant, early finishing, super potent Scottish strain.

But this year, ill just go with the Frisian dew x Purple Nepal, in order to try and get some super mould resistant day time pot. You never know, one or two females from the Frisian might be more potent than im expecting them to be.

scottish dew sounds good to me ,if u dont do it mosstroop then i will
do any of you know how long you can keep pollen for ,
can u fridge it for a few months and it will still work?

Scottish Dew sounds very interesting ... hope someone does it guys.

you can freeze pollen i think the viabilaty will be up to 8-9 months or up to 1 month in the fridge and if you dont do this the pollen will be valid for 3-4 days at room temps .

Right, thats it then. Its 2011, the year of inception for Scottish dew.
Smokinweedgi, even if i do make the cross, you should anyway, we all should one of us might win the seed lottery and end up with something special.

The chances are far better if we all do it.

Im really looking forward to this summer.

BTW Scottish Dew is a great name too, sounds like a good malt.

yep we'll all do it ... but mine will have to be done during the grow season coming up .

Scottish Dew is a better name compared to IRN-DEW which my stoned head thought of ...lol ..

Now this is the final strain to go in and its a fresh batch of FON

so theres enough diversity to cover this season ... i just hope they finish on time for the new season so i can grow them out .... im a little impatient as you see , ive still to arrange a Ton of top soil for the holes for them to go into ... a midnight run in the drop-side tipper me thinks, we'll see what happens ... photo's of the seedlings to come later on tonight .

This is quite an interesting thread with regard to our situation.

https://www.icmag.com/ic/showthread.php?t=190023

what im wondering isif you trigger a load of indoor grown plants at say week 2 - week 3 of July, will the 9.5-10 hours of darkness of late July be enough to keep the flowering hormone levels high enough, to see flowering out to the end, if this works then you could plant out pre triggered plants, which will grow significantly in the brighter outdoor light. and with luck have them flower in what should/could/might if we're lucky be the hottest bit of the year.

I tried this a few year ago and failed. The plants went into shock mode.Far better putting them out in May and letting them grow naturally.

Maybe if you did it under glass rather than lights they might be less shocked and more acclimatised.

I think i might still try this as an experiment. will cost me next to nothing, most plants ive grown in the window and put outside have exploded into growth due to the much better light outside plus having room to spread their roots.

But i have never tried with weed i admit.

Im really looking forward to this summer.

& this say`s it all ,

if anybody gets the amount of daylight sorted out for your lat for the continuous flowering of flowering plants i`d be interested in the results .
