danm sup with the uk and nutes???
Bloody awfull i expect, though having said that, if i went and got a few buckets of shrimp waste, it would be fresh, so maybe not as bad as all that.what would your house smell like after this process
Im not sure, but maybe we just hate to spend money. Are you refering to the stickied nutes thread in the UK sub forum?danm sup with the uk and nutes???
link it up!uk nute thread although i think most are ebuying?im all for supporting your economy.also i use organic fungicide!sea 90 and mushroom and crabshell, also milk water1:9 to treat infected plants.Bloody awfull i expect, though having said that, if i went and got a few buckets of shrimp waste, it would be fresh, so maybe not as bad as all that.
Having said all that, id do it in the garden, on my propane burner.
I agree, it does seem like a lot of work, but in reality, its just a case of boiling the waste for as long as possible, then washing it, then dissolving in vinegar.
I like the idea of being able to make my own, who knows how much the Chinese will want for this if demand increased, i notice that not many people on the forum are talking about chitins and chitosan, i think its a relatively new discovery.
It is after all a good, semi organic fungicide, or preventative. And as such, very useful for our endeavours. In reality you can probably just boil the waste in caustic, this should make it smell almost of nothing, then wash in water and just use the shell as a soil additive, allowing the slight acidity of the soil to break down the chitosan contained therein.

I love that thread maybe i should take this discussion there. I posted my thought here though because we have been talking fungicides for outdoor grows too.
Although chitosan is a fungicide of sorts, it really triggers a response in the plant itself by feeding certain kinds of benificial bacteria (i think).
if theres a mushroom farm in ur area go there and talk to them ask what they do wit spent mushroom substraight.ur right but its also high N bat guano.ive got paper for tellin A chinky typeing!lol stop the mold dead in there tracks up %3 fold!.Sea90 looks good, and i also noticed that chitins are in fungi as well as crustaceans and insect bodies, im wondering if some soil from my local broadleaf woodlands might be rich in chitosan since its also very full of mycelia and fungus.
Ive been wondering also if this is why bat guano is so good for plants since bats live almost exclusively on insects (dont they)?
Well, not Fruit and Vampire bats maybe.
the plants still look good high. The plants look healthy at this stage and blooming quite nicely, I predict ready april 10th. but maybe 15th, but we shall see.
Aye, yer right they do look really good, im sort of amused that the first part of Scotland's outdoor season has to take place indoors.
I made such a balls up of my first lot of Hashpalnt 2 ive had to buy some more, im very keen to find a good mother from this stock, so it had to be done.
I was wrong when i said i had ordered more HP2 i looked again and i have actually ordered Hashplant instead. I really must try to pay more attention
