3t- yeah i got some pics of them while they were growing outside...i'd have to dig em out somewhere towards the back of my gallery.
sow the seeds- i germed a 10 pack...found sex....ended up with about 3-4 girls then i took clones off them and put the clones outdoors.
smokateer- i mainly grow indica dom strains...and i always choose the most indica phenos when i don't know when the strain will finish because my season isn't very long around here. my special gold strain makes big rock hard buds just like any indoor grow, actually that 26 inch 3 oz top was the biggest bud i've grown indoors or outdoors. these schnazz's are real hard just like indoor indica buds.
it's definatly in the strain, i used to always end up with light airy buds outdoors, now my outdoor buds are more dense then any outdoor buds i've seen around....ever since i started ordering genetics and making a few of my own crosses i've gotten exactly what i'm looking for.
but you also need alot of sunlight for the real dense buds, more is better, also another thing that will help is polymers in the soil....they help keep your plants watered even during droughts....alot of my friends plants died while mine were thriving during our drought....i thank that to my polymers.
