just snapped a few pics quick of my outdoor schnazzleberry #2 that has been curing for 2 1/2 months. thought some people might like to see them since there isn't much for pics of this nice strain....here you go
yeah this batch of schnazz#2 is pretty dank....tastes berryish/fruity/skunky....i liked this later pheno more then the earlier one i had...but i liked both....i'll throw some pics of the earlier pheno up later.....peace
hey thanks buddy.....nice outdoor strain, finishes around end of sept. with nice yields of chunky and frosty nugs....i kept a couple cuts so i'll be running her again next yr....i recommend it if your into the shiskleberry or blueberry type buds.
actually it does great....there was an earlier pheno i picked around mid sept and this later one that came down end of sept....neither of them had any mold or bud rot....thats what i look for because we get wierd weather in late sept/early oct around here....alot of rain with cold nights....she handled it real good.
Im wondering when you growers grow outside do you keep it in a greenhouse because if I grow outside and raine hits the buds there either going to get bud rot or lose all the crystals from the rain. how do you do it?
nope, no greenhouse, i rough the elements just like you.
what you need to do is find strains that are mold and rot resistant, some strains are tough against mold and rot....i've had some strains pure mold and rot while the strain right next to it is perfect...thats what you need to find.
never harvest after rain, always harvest after a couple days of sun...u gotta keep a good eye on the weather forcast towards the end of your grow....if it's almost harvest time and 2-3 days of rain is expected just go pull em....if it's only gonna rain lightly for a day but the next week is gonna be nice and sunny then let them go.
user name....they were grown at 44 degrees lat.....is that what you meant?
tokinmom.....kodiak gold is 100% mold and rot resistant, this schnazz is pretty much the same way....skunk special.....and my cross called "special gold" is perfect, it's a cross of skunk special x kodiak gold....i made it hoping for big huge rock hard buds that are mold resistant and get done in time in my area...and it worked.
when searching for a strain for outdoors alot of them will say if they are good at mold resistant...alot of the strains from northern usa and canada are made for it.....good luck
smokes really nice, i've only smoked 1 doobie of this pheno to be honest.....tasted good, had nice thick smoke, got me and my cuz tore up from the floor up and we've been smokin some killer nugs lately....from what i've seen so far i'd give this strain a solid 8 or 9 overall for outdoors....there's always room for improvement on everystrain so it's almost impossible to get a 10 from me lol.
i'd recommend it to anyone that grows outdoors...i'm not sure how it would grow indoors since i never tried it yet.
actually i meant altitude like vertical feet. i did my first OD this summer at about 10000' and it takes a pretty quick strain to finish at that elevation. im about 38N
i havent been able to get the dense bud's that " indoor grower's" get. it could be my genetic's but i know my plant's got real good lighting this year and i just didnt get that rock hard bud structure to them. but i also didnt get any mold except for a gram or two. tokin sativa dominant strain's or mix's seem to have worked well for me on avoiding the mold i have yet to grow indica dominant varieties outdoor's and it wouldnt be such a bad idea to buy some and test my limit's so to speak.
