GG THANKS FOR THE KIND WORDS MY FRIEND. OLD TOKER YOU CAN GET AWAY WITH A LOT MORE THAN I CAN WITH THE HUMIDITY. IF YOU ARE IN NORTH FL. YOU GET SOME COOLER AIR EARLIER THAN I DO. YOU NEED TO LOOK AT SATIVAS THAT FINISH FROM END SEPTEMBER TO BEGINNING/ MID NOV. JUST TO NAME A FEW, DELAHAZE, BANGI HAZE, NEPALJAM, GUATAMALA, MALAWI X PCK, . I HAVE RUN A FEW OF THESE THIS SEASON AND HAD NO ISSUE'S WITH MOLD. JUST REMEMBER TO SPRAY FOR CATERPILLARS A FEW TIMES DURING THE SEASON AND JUST BEFORE FLOWER AND YOU SHOULD BE FINE

no i bought the fem breeders pack. i will be growing the purple malawi variety this summer along with a couple others ace has panama x malawi , angola x panama. i think you are better off going with the fem version unless you are going to sex them before putting them out. i did have a good female rate out of the bangi i have ended up with 3 out of 4 femalae from the reg. pack i have

Hi Old Toker, I was way to far north for Bangi, She was just starting to flower when frost hit. Glad to see you eyeing up some nice sativas. I really wish i could grow a pure Sativa this far north.
I would like to see you or flboy grow out Tikal. I was really impressed with this plant in veg. Strong stem and nice structure. Again never even started to flower for me up north. It would be interesting to watch it grow under the FL sun.

Gorilla ganja: I feel your pain. Lived north of the Mason/Dixon line for almost 30 years and grew exclusively indoors......so this outdoor grow is a first for me also. If I can get through the first harvest with enough to supply me for at least a year.....I'll be open to trying a few other strains.....including Tikal. First I have to figure out how grow 4 or 5 outdoor plants successfully.

i will answer any questions i can to help you out. just hit me up. how much does it take to get you a year worth of smoke. if you can make it till end of november where you are then order the fem purple haze x malawi. i had 3 out and the low yielding one gave me 1.4 # and the best was 2.2 #

Thanks Flboy, Less than a pound will get me through a year. However it doesn't seem to cost much more to pop 4-5 plants after site prep....than just 1 plant. Spread out from each other enough to decrease the odds of somebody discovering my entire grow......I'm hoping to get at LEAST 1 plant to harvest. 1 plant with anywhere near one pound of dry yield will take care of this old toker for at least a year. If I end up with more than 1 plant and multiple pounds of smoke......I have a few friends and family that I can rely on to help me "dispose" of my good fortune.
Either way......I'll take whatever lessons I learn this year and apply them to next season.
BTW - first day of frost here is the 20 something of November. Not sure how close to that date I should risk. Not too close is probably safest. Of course there isn't anything SAFE about growing in FL. Imagine losing an entire crop due to frost? Might cause me to start growing Indicas. Nahhhhhh......
