Outdoor planting time question

I think I'm at about 15 on June 1st. I'm by sacramento. I can't find the daylight hour table that the navy has.. You put in your location and it gives you a table of light hours for the year. If someone was further south then me, they would need to plant later.

It's the matching i don't get. I think it's a myth.

Lots of free phone apps for sun and moon times. I use calendar-sun and moon. I like to wait until about 14 hr 45 min of daylight. strain dependent of course. Take lights down to 16hr for two weeks before putting outside

Yea. I wonder about twilight hours. I wonder if the sun rise/ sunset tables out there factor that.

I wonder if there is someone that knows more about cannabis biology that could weigh in on this. I would just think that having less build up of flowering hormone would make a plant going from 24/0 less likely to flower then a plant going from 16/8.

The only way i would know is to do an experiment. I'll put out plants on may 7th this year from both light cycles. See if one of them flips.

I think nitrogen content and root constriction makes a difference also. I'm definitely pushing N at this time of year

I start my seeds in early April and want them sexed by June 1st. That's the main reason why I use 15/9 because for me they show sex faster than 16/8 without much of a different in plant size between the two light cycles. I never tried anything higher than 16/8 but if they show sex faster due faster growth than it would be worth doing for me.

Maybe I'll just put it in one of these existing threads.

I'll start now. I'll switch to 16/8 now on some and put some on 24. I'll put a batch out in a week on may 7th. I'll put another batch out on may 14.

I wish i started earlier. I would have liked to try may1st.

Any plant that starts forming buds will just be tossed. I don't mess with reveg.

I only have 1 strain to try it with.

An old hippie friend told me anytime after 4/20 was fine as far north as the Oregon border. He grew in humboldt and near the Smith river
