Shortest day of the year - and the sun is out! Looking forward to the next 12 months of growing - pest control will be an issue as things warm up. That's one good thing about winter grows - no spider mites.
Here's the dread bread @ day 51 - she's beginning to bulk up - not bad for a winter grow.
Dread bread day 57 - call me an old romantic but I prefer growing plants with a simpler story behind them.
From the official description:
"A quick aromatic Mangobiche sativa from friends in South America wed to a fat greasy vintage lemon afghani. The density of the buds is so extreme that 'Dread Bread' was the only way to describe it. Musky, earthy, smoky spicy, mango citrus buds, with beautiful orange hairs and an otherworldly godlike high. True hybrid vigor, fat yields, extreme potency, resinous males.... 10+ weeks....."
I found where they were coming from and dealt with them but the plants have suffered. Perhaps from my over zealous use of products and/or I may have overfed them.
They have been vegging for 8 weeks now but they don't have side branches big enough for clones yet.
They are living outside 24/7 with a solar light coming on at night - the other 3 have another night light.
Cheers starke - I'm keeping all 3 for another run. This has been a winter grow so it's not really fair to judge them yet but in general I'm happy with the buds I have.
Dawgs Bollocks joint - I'm mainly vaping these days but I thought I'd try a joint.
Dread Bread main cola (pre cure)
Caribe A and D - still vegging, still no preflowers and I still haven't secured clones... so 12/12 is being held off a while. They have recovered well.
The 3 clones and the 4 caribes have had a few days of 12/12 - nothing really of interest to photograph. I have rooted clones of all 7.
Seed planting day today! As much as I recognise the benefits of growing selected clones I can't resist seed grows
Some of my seed choices have been based on favourites from my previous growing spell and the Citra Paradiso is in that category. One of my early winners was from a pack of SOL Adventure mix and later I had both the SPG and Sweet Skunk clones so when I saw SPG x SS it was a no brainer. I remember them very well - both produced great buds. I'm trying not to think too far ahead (trying) about what kind of plants/buds I'll get (especially when I have the 4 caribes flowering for the first time).
Making a guest appearance with the 5 Citras is a single fem seed of Blubonik from Genehtik. The description is similar to the SOL Bluebonic description so I think it might be an S1 of a Bluebonic keeper. It has SPG in it as well so she might feel a certain kinship with the Citra sisters. Hoping for a blueberry type with this one.
Finally a pic of an MxP bud - they've only been in the jar for a few days so a while to go before they can be properly judged.
